Fall
Scribed by Juliana Ng
28 Septembre 1996
With courage, she stood strong
Against despair and anguish
that had claimed so many others
With wisdom, she understood
That whispers of cruelty haunts all
So she raised her voice, defying it
* * *
She would not fall
While others wept, crying out in fear
She smiled bravely, and stood her ground
She would not fall
While others lost their hope
She held on fast, in a growing night
She would not fall
* * *
But in pride, valor, knowledge
She suffered a far more fatal consequence
She did not just weaken by the hour
She died a little each day
* * *
She would not fall
While others lost their way, no more signs
She kept her head straight in the dark
She would not fall
While others mourned their wounds
She let herself bleed, the crimson tears
She would not fall
* * *
But darling child, don't you see?
The arms stretched out waiting to catch you
The comfort it promises to soothe your pain
The healing of the heart, the soul, and mind
Don't you see, He waits
* * *
And yet you stare into the growing night (She would not fall)
You want to hold it on your own (She would not fall)
And so the breath of life flows from you
Sinking into nothingness
To be forgotten, forever lost
* * *
But with the last thread of strength
She let go...
* * *
And fell into loving arms
