A section on toys that didn't make it to the USA, and have no variations...for the moment :-) But they were cool nonetheless. This is a list of tfs that *aren't* already covered in one of the lists on the previous page. I fully expect these to move into the other sections eventually. In the meantime, enjoy them here, as is...for a complete list of Japanese tfs, I recommend Morg's Japanese Tf List. For the complete list of European Tfs, click here!
Sad, isn't it? There are like what, all of 10 transformers that didn't see another tf-release somewhere else in the world? That these are the *only* ones without variants?! I could cry....
Japanese-stuff we didn't get:
DeathaSauras
Or Dezarus, if you prefer. He was a...breastmaster. Hehehe...pic2
MetalHawk
The only Pretender not seen anywhere but Japan(a trade-off; we got some they didn't).
Grandus
One of those nifty japanese micro-bases that we missed out on (pic2)(pic3)
SkyGarry
Hauled micro-trailers, connected to StarConvoy and Grandus. pic2
StarConvoy
The return of Convoy! Came with a micro-rodimus. Connects with Skygarry and Grandus. (pic2)
(note that StarConvoy combines with Grandus and SkyGarry).

"Question: did the first 2 years (1985 + 1986) of Japanese G1 come with
trading cards?"
Answer: Nope, the first and second series did not, so those released in 1985 in Japan were cardless. The cards started with figures like Scourge, Cyclonus, Rodimus and Wreck Gar. Those cards also looked different from the later ones you're more familiar with such as Soundblaster, Twincast, Abominus, Raiden etc etc. The earliest ones were monochromatic (purple or red depending on faction)in background with two stripes going across them. All the best! -Maz
