Diamond Comic Distributors has entered into an agreement with Marvel comics to distribute their books to comic shops. You can get an advance look at all the comic company's plans for the future by looking in Diamond's Previews catalogue, which comes out monthly. Thousands of items from comics to trading cards are listed in Previews. You can order any of them at Gateway. Think of it like a Sears catalogue for kids and adults who like cool comics, cards, games, toys, tee-shirts and other stuff.
Our comics by the pound sale was a huge success, so we are doing it again! There will be comics not seen the first time around in May. We will again have thousands of comics available for only $1.00 a pound. The sale will run from July 22nd thru July 26th. If you missed our first sale, now is your time to make up for it!
This summer will be huge for comics, with movies for Batman and Spawn, as well as the Spawn HBO series. Toys and related merchandise from the movies will be available.

Baseball is back! The excitement and interest in collecting baseball cards is back, following several slow seasons due to apathy caused by player strikes and other problems off the ballfield. The players and owners have a contract now so let the fun begin again! Remember Jose Guillen? He played with the Erie Seawolves a couple years ago, and this 21 year old is a sensation as the Pirates starting rightfielder. His rookie cards this year are some of the hottest and most sought after. Why not try to pull one out of a pack and feel the thrill of pulling that card you really wanted! Of course Ken Griffey and Mark McGuire are also both making a run at Roger Maris's all time homerun mark of 61 in a season, and wonder of wonders, the revamped Pirates, picked by most to finish in last place, are fighting for first!
Of course football season is soon to be upon us. There's lots of great cards to be had here as well. PROLINE offers autographs in there boxes, and TOPPS FINEST is generally considered the creme' de la creme' of cards. Both should now be available, among other brands.
You young collectors just starting out, ask me for a booklet on how to collect cards. Its yours free while supplies last.
TSR, the makers of DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS and other rpg's is in the process of selling the company to WIZARDS OF THE COAST, the makers of MAGIC: THE GATHERING. If this deal goes through, it opens up many exciting possibilities for variations on the D&D, and MAGIC games. This would also help gamers, as the large amount of capital WOC can draw on should get TSR product flowing again. There have been no new releases for D&D this year yet.
We now have in stock several high quality CHESS SETS. We were able to get these at a reduced price so we can offer them at a good value. Prices for a board and pieces range between $100.00 and $200.00. Stop and see them if you are a chess aficionado.

There's a number of interesting trading card games to play these days. GATEWAY has carried MAGIC THE GATHERING for several years and we usually have the best variety of packs around. The latest release is WEATHERLIGHT, and is now available. STAR WARS CLOUD CITY will be available soon. The DAGOBAH expansion is available now. MONUMENTAL is the latest expansion for OVERPOWER. This game has become very popular, and we have a great stock of these cards in supply. Other games you may want to explore are MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, WILDSTORM, and LUNCH MONEY (a great party game). We have these games and more, so what are you waiting for?
