"Space, the Final Fronteer. These are the voyages of the Starship Invincible. Its continuing mission, to seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before!"
Okay, so I'm not QUITE the first person to have any low-down on the new movie, but come on! I gotta get it off someone! LOL
So, what's the latest? - Well, let me see... Data goes on the rampage after being damaged. COOL. Riker and Troi get back together in a library? Well, I'm looking forward to seeing that, sounds hillarious! Here's the best... Riker shaves the beard! Yes, folks, its back to Season 1 TNG for ole Willie! Personally, I thought the character was better with the bristles.. made him look a little wiser.... but hey, whatever fits.
The Crunch?? - Well, Data is performing a kind of First Contact mission on a planet when he's attacked and goes AWOL, destroying things... the Enterprise arrives to try to fix him but Data attacks them too. Starfleet are wishing Kirk was around to talk yet ANOTHER computer to death but Picard instead captures him and repairs him.
Next up, this planet happens to be a Fountain Of Youth! Yes, Picard gets some hair back!!!!!!!! Riker, however, doesn't.
As the plot develops, we find out there's a bit of.. well, unusually for Trek (sarcasm dripping off the screen) a plot involving some High-Ranking Admiral and some brand new Aliens who have lived for hundreds of years by getting facelifts... just imagine Joan Collins and you got it!
During the course, Riker is left in Command of the Enterprise and has to take it out of the system.. but he's chased and there's a big battle! Well, knowing Star Trek movies, there will be 2 shots fired, someone will shout "HULL BREACH" and it'll all be over... but there IS a little more to it.. new wepaon for the baddies.. bye bye Warp Core for the goodies as Riker has to eject it to seal the Subspace thing that the baddies just made. Despite being the most powerful in Starfleet, the Enterprise is crippled, although not enough to return at the end to pic the Captain up... surrrrrprise!
Of course, the Admiral realises that he's done something drastically wrong but gets killed anyway. Picard does the thing and has fisty-cuffs with the big bad guy at the end on a Satillite which, if allowed to activate, will destroy the entire solar system or something to that effect. Of course, it doesn't because as it unfolds itself, the baddy is ejected into space! HA! And everyone lives happily ever after...
