Too many souls

Maybe I've missed some part in the Kult rulebook, but I have a couple of questions: Earth's population is growing very rapidly. This means that there are more and more people on earth. This means there are more and more people in the illusion. If that is so, are all these new people humans or jailers (or other creatures). And if they are indeed human, shouldn't they have a soul that resided somewhere in the grey nothing, Inferno or Elysium or anywhere else before they were (re)born? If Astaroth is gathering his forces, and there will be an Armageddon, will there be any future left for the illusion?

Now this is interesting. I think I've read something that covered this, but I'm not sure if the source was KULT-related at all. I can think of two explanations:

1) Archons/Death Angels/Astaroth (and perhaps the long lost Demiurge?) are indeed gathering their forces, letting their servants reincarnate as (or take the shape of) humans.

2) There's something wrong somewhere (the grey nothing?) and the souls are reincarnating too fast (sound worrying). Or perhaps it's just that much more purgatides are able to escape from foreverness in hell (could have something to do with point 1 ?).

Hmmm. It is said that the once-full heavens and hells are empty an desolate places nowadays. The souls could have been around all the time, just cooped up longer in the "afterlifes". At the disappearance of the Demiurge, the jailers got sloppy, and simply allowed the earths population to grow to fast, thus using the not-quite-wiped souls at a faster rate and creating a fading illusion. Could work...

Has anyone read the Sandman comic. In one story, hell was closed and the dead returned. The various reasons behind this could fit in with a Kult game, but the best thing about it was the questions it raised. What if Satan said sorry?, What if one day he just quit? In the end he retired to the coast of Australia, perhaps that's where the elusive demiurge is, not so much missing, just on sabbatical.

The Taroticum Adventure states that new souls have not been created since before the Demiurge set up the illusion. And I think personally that the preponderance of personal purgatories as opposed to Hell and Elysium might account for the faster turnover.

Keeping the above information in mind, I think I have an idea... The souls that were originally created have all been used up!! So what happens next, one regular soul that is being reincarnated is shredded into to two incomplete souls. As the world's population continues to expand the number of incomplete souls will increase. What effects this will have in the game are up to you, but personally I think that the two incomplete souls will be unstable (Mental illnesses, insanity, etc) wich would account for the rising number of crazy people. This would seem to be good for us blind, illusion-bound mortals for it would cause more of us to go mad faster causing the population to speed towards the awakening. It would seem that our jailers would try to stop this!! Maybe they are!! But in my games ( If i could find players in my area to play) all split souls are incomplete and thus could not awaken until joined with their soul-twin. This, of course, would be hard, as if awakening wasn't hard enough, and the ever increasing mentally unstable population wouldn't attain the awakening, they would just continue to sink into the pits of their own insanity. This can also be used for the characters, playing a split soul person can have tons of applications, plus it makes it harder for them to awaken. Not that anyone in my story would ever get close to awakening in the first place, but its the thought that counts.
