The story so far: Catwoman Selina Kyle is dead, killed by The Joker, who also visited Barbara Gordon the same night and shot her. While Barbara lived, the bullet rendered her unable to walk, ending her career as costumed crimefighter Batgirl. After this violent night, Batman left the city of New Gotham in mysterious circumstances. In order to continue protecting the city, Barbara Gordon took on a new identity, that of Oracle, an information broker with the highest technology computer equipment enabling her to keep an eye on events across New Gotham at the click of a button. She joined up with Helena Kyle, who acts as her muscle and (sometimes unwilling) eyes on the street in the guise of Huntress. Helena is the child of Batman and Catwoman and has inherited abilities from both. It's just as these two are starting to get a handle on their responsibilities (with help from Bruce Wayne's former butler, Alfred) that a young girl named Dinah Lance comes to visit. With the ability the read minds, she could be a valuable addition to the team, but due to her youth and inexperience, possibly also its biggest liability, especially with the villainous Dr Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn, preparing to plague the city…
