BACKGROUND STORY
The year is 2009. The place is South China, war-torn China that is. The third world war had erupted. It all started when North Korea attacked a U.S. shipping sending financial and food relieve to a declining South Korea. After that all hell broke loose, and the World divided into two sides. China divided into North and South, with the South fighting on the U.S. side. However, we are not concerned about the War. We are more concerned about a little dismal, primitive place called Jingyan, located just 3 miles away from the front, where the MASH 4077th is set up. The people at MASH are exposed to extreme hard work, and hard ship. Horrible situations, conditions and frustrations. Their individual and collective reaction was to cope with the situation and get the job done. To cope with the extremely stress, many developed behavior very inconsistent with their previous, civilian live. A few went lost their marbles, but most just raised hell! The following story(soon to be series) is about these individuals and their work.
For those who are unfamiliar with M*A*S*H
For those of you who don't know, MASH stands for mobile army surgical hospital. What it basically is, is a movable hospital that treats casualties of war. MASH surgeons are not concerned with perfection or reconstruction. Their goal is to give "first aid surgery"(called meatball surgery by some)and stabilize wounds until the patients can be safely evacuated to a hospital much farther from the front where reconstruction and more time consuming surgery can be performed. As some of you might've heard on CNN or whatever other news thing you watch, the last MASH unit have recently been closed down. They are being replaced by faster and smaller teams called Forward Surgical Teams. However, for the purpose of this story, I will pretend that they still exist. For those of you who don't like that idea, well TOUGH, it's my story!! :)
