The Sun

The Sun has been adored by most people, until the outbreak of the great monotheist religions, whose cult has promoted the birth. The first attempts of monotheism were centered around the solar cult: Aton in Egypt, the Sol Invictus of the Roman Empire. Christianism still carries traces of those beliefs. The Christ is called the Sun of Justice, and in one of the great anthems sang at Christmas in catholic churches: Oriens, which means Rising Sun.
