Marisa Edavar has been an Accepted at the ToC in the past, albeit one who has been on a farm doing penance for a very long time. She was fourteen when her father (an army captain) took her to Tarabon for a trip; this vacation was cut very short when the Seanchan invaded. They killed her father and took her captive as a damane. She was their slave for four years, and they almost utterly broke her spirit. Then, in a battle against Aiel Wise Ones, she was freed and her sul'dam killed. With her only source of meaning gone, Marisa sank into a depression which continued as she started her training at the ToC. There, surrounded by fearsome authority figures and marath'damane, Marisa became increasingly unstable and insane until she finally snapped and went on a rampage through the Tower. Eventually, with the help of the MoN and Amyrlin, she overcame her fear and regained her sanity again, and was sent away for a year of penance. Marisa is still emotionally scarred by her experiences and very shy, but she's now got a mission to help other damanes find freedom. She looks like the typical Saldaean--tilted brown eyes, black hair, tan skin. She's quiet and studious, and hopes to become a Gray Sister.
