Assel was born in Fal Dara to a mother that died a few minutes after Assel's birth.  Assel never got know her father or even know who he was.  Assel grew up learning to survive on the kindness of strangers and on doing whatever she could to earn a coin or a meal.  Assel has long brown hair and green eyes. She has a small birthmark on her neck that is normally covered by her hair.  She is slight and not at all tall.  Assel is very wary and untrusting of strangers, although once she has made a friend, she stands by that friend for life, no matter what mistakes that friend makes.  That is to say Assel makes a very loyal and understanding friend.  Assel can be quiet, but stands up for what is right. Assel can be stubborn, but is really very caring.  Assel wishes to become Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah so that she can heal, because she has seen many of her friends get hurt and felt powerless to help them.
