I think both sides have valid points, but.... I think that the passing of Skywise has brought this issue to our consciousness. That he should be given a memorial in this way seems appropriate to me. People not aware of this issue will not be sadly reminded of death; they will just see it as another obscure name among others on the Realm, while the friends and family of Skywise will be extremely gratified by it. A precedent *has* been set with this, but it is one of recognizing the real impact that the Realm has on friendships and love. I sincerely hope that this discussion will lead to some kind of memorial plaque being implemented that can be viewed on the Realm itself if you so choose. Where in the Realm doesn't matter....in the Skywise eatery or a grove or whatever. If you don't want to be reminded of r/l death when in the game, that is your right, so just don't click on it. BTW, I do not perceive the Realm to be 'just' a game. It is much more than that, involving real, deep friendships, real intimacy, real joy and real sorrow.
