You have valid points, and this is the type of sentiment that sounds like a nice thing to do at first, but that fact is it would only be overly abused and there will probably be more living people with memorials than deceased. I can just imagine the people lying to get memorials and plaques. I doubt this would happen, and I still don't think any person should be getting a memorial. You also said this: "I'm seeing people get angry and bitter over something which, frankly, really isn't any of their bloody business. Folks, when you have a dear friend in Realm die, THEN you're entitled to caterwaul and openly throw a fit about whether or not they "get on the memorial plaque" or "get their own tavern". Until then, you're looking at it from the outside, and you're missing a key piece in your reasoning." Well golly gee willlickers, My Mother who has been playing this game since last December died of Lucemia at the age of 68 but I am not throwing these kinds of fits. This is ONLINE. We need to create memorials and deal with our problems in the REAL WORLD..not create memorials for people because they are popular and well known in an online game. I didn't just consider the flip side of this, I too was going to give a "Include me in the vote" message before I actually considered the situation. It's a game, not Real life. Many people knew other deceased realmers, does this mean they should get memorials too? I am sorry, but you haven't convinced me.
