Mystery: The relationship between these two prior to joining the mutant team Generation X
Known Facts: Penance does not speak.
Both connected to the mutant Emplate.
Monet once said "Maybe this... will somehow atone for our brother's sins" directly to Penance which justified their origins as sisters and was later clarified even more.
Both have pasts shrouded in mystery
Monet has an unknown sister and may be a twin. The twins' identity is unknown, as is the sister.
Monet is the sister to Saint Croix, Marius, a.k.a. Emplate.
Pennace was a captive of Emplate for several years.
Thoughts and Possible Suspicions: Monet and Penance are the most mysterious of the mutant team Generation X. Both possess virtually unknown pasts and their powers have also not been completely identified. The stipulation that these two are related is a presumably true, as it was mentioned in the letters column of a previous issue of Generation X. However, how they are related is still unknown. Theories of them being twins, one being the twin of another who is unknown, and one being a combination of two people have been voiced. However, there is still nothing to go on besides the facts. This is going to be resolved in the coming issues of Generation X in the very near future.
