The Moonless Caves

The Wood FAYHLON: You go downstairs and approach the strange man sat in the darkest corner of the tavern's hall. The other men don't seem to notice you and keep on talking and drinking dark beer. The host on the other side is keeping on drying some glasses, while he whistles an ancient song.
"You're back, young master." Says the man.
"Yes, I am. I need some help and maybe you can give me an hand."
"Sure, I can."
"Okay, what do you want to do, now?"
The man stand up and star at you. He is tall and he has a dark beard that cover his face. His eyes shine in the shade.
"Let's go. There's no reason to stay there."
You are very tired but you decide to follow him out-side. You immediately understand that you will walk all night and maybe the day after too. So you take some beer in a tiny barrel and something to eat, then go out with the man.
"My name is Fayhlon." He says. "We've got to reach to eastern wood. It will be a long walk but at the end you will have your answers."
"What does it mean?"
"Shut up, kid. The journey just begins."
You are really insecure but you can't do nothing, so take your supplies and go with him 'til a cart, where is tied a big horse.
"Come on." Whispers Fayhlon. You get on the cart and hide yourself on the back side, while Fayhlon covers you and himself with a dirty sheet. "Keep quiet and don't move. If they discover you I won't help you. This village has something wrong and its inhabitants are very . . . Unkind!"
You too, you think but don't say nothing. You are very scared but you know that there are no other ways to find an explanation, and above all you want to go back home.
After five or ten minutes someone gets on the cart and spurs on the horse. You begin to move. You are very tired and the rolling of the cart makes you sleepy. When you wake up is day and Fayhlon, now is driving the cart.
"What's happened?" You ask.
"There's was an old, ridiculous man riding on a pony." He sings. "Someone takes it softly down . . . And he's still in agony. Ha! Ha! Ha!"
You tremble and cover better with the sheet. It's cold and you see in front of you an high mountain chain, preceded by a green wood. You are approaching the first rows of trees when Fayhlon stops the cart and goes down.
"Come on, young master. We can't proceed. We've got to walk."
You follow him disappointed and walk inside the shadows of the first bushes. There are a great number of dead leaves on the ground and you can't go on without making a big noise. It's early in the morning and you are hungry. You'd like to stop and eat something and you are about to tell that to Fayhlon where he alts in the middle of the wood and makes a strange signal to you.
"What's the hell . . ." You try to say but he takes you and hide behind the big trunk of a tree.
"Shut up, kids! They're coming!"
"Who?" You ask.
"Garklich! A dozen, I guess."
You try to see if it's true but he doesn't let you lean out. You'd like to protest but he takes a little sword and points it to your throat.
"Shut up, I said!"
A group of strange and ugly creatures comes from the end of the forest, near there, walks though the place where you were just a minute before, then disappears in the other side, grunting and shouting.
"Wow! It's gone." You say. Fayhlon nudges you with his elbow and goes away.
"Come on, kid." He says. You restart to walk and finally you arrive to a big wall of stone where the forest ends. There are no other ways and you begin to think that Fayhlon could be wrong, but you see that he draws something on the rock with his sword and then he glances at you with an interrogative expression.
"Now what?" He says.
"What are you talking about?"
"You've got to enter, but you need the key."
"I had none!" You say astonished. Fayhlon begin to laugh loud.
"That's no my problem, boy. If you can't you will die." He says and disappears as a fine mist envelopes him. You are confused and can't realize that a door is opening in the stone. A dark figure appears.
"The word." He says monotonous.
You look at him. "The word?"
He doesn't seem to notice you but simply replay: "The word."
"Hey! Fayhlon!" You cry uselessly. "What does it mean!"
You turn yourself and look around. From a distant tree appears the dark head of Fayhlon but it seems that it's vanishing rapidly again.
"Come on, mate." He says in a deep tone, still laughing. "But remember. tonight must be the night, tomorrow'll be too late. If you survive I'll be back. You owe me your gold's treasure!"
He fade out and you are alone. The figure behind the door starts to move toward you.

What do you do?
- I try to fight.
- I run away as fast as I can.
- I try to give an answer.
