PSone Section
I haven't the slightest clue on how to do emblems for the PSOne. Someone give me an email and help a brotha out. As soon as I recive this info, I'll post it.
Playstation 2 Section
Step 1 : Making an Initial File
Load up your Armored Core 2 game (not Another Age) and save an emblem. The emblem saved does not have to be any emblem in particular and can in fact be blank.
Step 2 : Loading the Emblem up using a X-port
Load up your PS2 and computer using the Sharkport/X-Port device for Game/Code Save transfer. For this operation, you'll need Sharkport/X-Port Version 1.0 and NOT the newer 2.0 version. Browse the Memory card for your Emblem Save. Check-In this save to your database. Go into your database of saves on your PC and save your emblem to disk (preferrably your harddrive in a assigned place.)
Step 3 : Editing the Emblem
Now you should have an emblem.xpo file on your harddrive (it doesn't have to be emblem.xpo, that is just for example.) Take this file and load it into the emblem editor. Take the BMP, 8-bit and 128x128 pixels, that you want to make an emblem out of and load it into the editor as well. After both images are loaded, press the WRITE TO .XPO button in the editor. This will permanantly convert your emblem.xpo to the image on the emblem.bmp (again, named for example.)
Step 4 : Reloading the Emblem into your Memory Card
Take the emblem.xpo in your Sharkport/X-Port database and delete it. Then, hit the IMPORT button. This should bring up a BROWSE button, press that and locate the newly modified emblem.xpo on your harddrive. Select the file and load it into the database. At this point, the new emblem being in the database, press Check-Out the save back onto your memory card. Viola. The new Emblem takes the place of the old emblem.
Step 5 : The sometimes unecessary step
Load the new emblem up into your AC2 or AC2:AA game and edit it with your control pad or a usb mouse. I myself prefer a mouse. You can play with the transparency of certain spots. Also, the Emblem editor has a Transparency option where one can choose to make a certain color transparent. This is for Advanced users and I wouldn't recommend using this option until you've fully aquainted yourself with this process. Anyway, there it is, have fun!
