To the left is the first Astro Chicken game and was released
in SQ3. The point is to land the chicken safetly on a landing pod surrounded by mines. If you do
this successfully enough times you will get an coded message. This message is easy to decode if
you the decoder ring Monolith Burger had in their fun meals at that time. They message was a call
for help from they two guys when they were held in prison by Scumsoft. Somehow this cheap game
matched the Monolith Burger resturant it was placed in.
On the right is the second game in the series of Astro
chicken, as you can see the hero in this game is the female of Astro Chicken. The point of
this game is to drop eggs on dogs and hunters. When you gained 250 points you reach home,
before that you have to avoid flying foxes, farmers with guns, mad dogs and wind mills.
Checkerboard Construction Set is a very typical game from
Scumsoft. It is cheap, boring, idiotic, good-for-nothing, tasteless etc. and to prove that I
quote what is written about it on the box: "Following closely on the heels of this hit
"Tic-Tac-Toe Construction Set", Phil Phudge does it again. Using a simple point-and-click
interface, you construct the checkerboard of your dreams! Fill in an 8x8 grid with squares of
your choice... red or black, in any arrangement as long it's alternating. Don't like it? Erase it
and start all over again! Requires MCGA, CGA, VGA, PGA or TA-RA-RA-BOOMGA." I'm not very suprised
that this game was one of the few games left in a computer store in SQX (through SQIV)
