The lock finally gave way. I quietly escaped past the drunken guards. I walked south hoping to reach a port before anything happened and sail to Demuron. Many months later I arrived at one, I was battered and weak. I barely had the strength to stand any longer. I stayed at an inn that night. Feeling insignificantly better, I stowed away on the first ship to Demuron I found. Those were two of the most miserable months of my life aboard that ship, but I survived to find my son in Winter Bourne. Shortly after that, no ships came to Demuron any more.

However, it became a World war. The East (Where Demuron was located) Versus the West which Sedric controlled. The West was far superior to the East in magic and manufacturing..... And so it was, tied up in a hopeless war.... But then again, after my life, what was another trial to the death? I mean my life had all ready been a living hell for the most part. So let Sedric bring his hordes and they shall be met with everything within my power to bring. And so it truly began. I crossed the East, and I raised the largest army ever to be seen by this world. And I started a navy that rivaled the Emperors, this all took about 7 or 8 years.

During this 8 year period I traveled a lot, on one of my travels to meet one of my better friends of the time, Tarran, I met his beautiful daughter Eilonwy. I was quite smitten with her, truth be told. Though, I had never really gotten a chance to talk with her. Her lovely elegance, and wondrously gorgeous being made me a bit nervous about talking to her. I mean, I was not usually in high demand with the ladies. Nor did I consider myself very charming. Well, a few days later Tarran, Matrim, and I were out hunting. We were just about ot head home and were heading into a forest when several men jumped us. There were 6 of them and only 3 of us. Tarran moved faster than any mortal I could think of, and his strength was great as well. I took out 2, Tarran got 3, and Mat killed the last. It took me a while to realize he must be Kindred, which meant his daughter was as well.

Eilonwy being Kindred made me feel a bit apprehensive about getting to know her because I had not always been on the best of terms with the walking dead. Tarran was my friend however, so I continued to visit him and vice versa. Well, a few weeks later Tarran needed to go on business. What exactly he did there I never knew, however, he entrusted Eilonwy to my protection due to the ever present threat of an invasion from Sedric. She came and lived in my Stronghold.

While in my care, one of her servants came to ask me my feelings towards her. Which was odd for servants to directly talk to those in higher standing, though since I had been a slave I did not particularly care. I asked her why it mattered, she told me something I was rather surprised to hear. I have decided not to say exactly. It didn't matter much though. My pride stood in the way of my happiness, even though I didn't know it then. A few days later, I came across Eilonwy sitting alone in the large garden found in the southern area of my keep.

Upon first glance I saw nothing amiss and continued to walk in that direction. Upon coming a bit nearer, I could see that she was upset over something. So, being the complete fool I was, I walked over to find out what the matter was. My first questions were met with short replies, and got me no where. Though, I was persistent and continued to try. After a few minutes of this, I found that I was the cause of her distress. It truly hurt me to hear that, though, I would never admit it.

Then she asked if i would hate her if she wasn't a vampire. The question took me back a little. For starters, I didn't hate her at all, which I was sure to let her know. She seemed skeptical, so I leaned over and kissed her. Now, it had been many, many years since I had last kissed anyone. And the feeling that filled me cannot really be put into words. It was similar to an all powerful supreme glee. In the weeks to follow we talked a lot, and I got to know her very well. And during this time a very odd thing happened, I fell in love.

Now, this was very unexpected for myself. I had thought myself mostly stolid and unfeeling. After all my years of pain and misery another joy surfaced to the top of my bleak life. And I felt the feeling hit me. It is so hard to describe what I felt. I have heard it said that words can't say what love can do, and I truly believe this to be true. And when when the day came that I learned she loved me in return..... It filled the uncaring void of my soul and replaced it with a fountain of love and emotion once again. I was reborn. And with my rebirth I finally found a true cause for fighting. To keep a world where my love, Eilonwy, and I could be at peace and be happy in each others arms. And with the bringing of love, I gained another emotion. Hate....

And it was hate that drove me through the rest of the war... A few weeks after my "edification" of emotion, Sedric attacked Winter Bourne. And he brought one of the greatest armies this world had ever seen. I ordered all supplies to be brought into the main keep, and all people who could fit were brought back into its walls. I could not believe I had allowed myself to let that patheticc sniveling weakling amass such a campaign without knowing about it. I ordered all who would not fit into the keep to go back into the highlands and rally troops from our allianced nations....

The day after all these plans were finalized, a messenger from Sedric came announcing that if we surrendered now we would all keep our lives. Sedric was not pleased to find the head of his messenger in a basket return. I placed every bow man I could muster around the walls of the keep, and had boiling oil placed around to dump onto attackers. The siege began the next day.

The first outcries of battel began in the early morning, I had Eilonwy take all the women and childern down into deeper sections of the keep. Though she protested that she would rather stay, she did as I said for which I was grateful. I waited for all of Sedrics troops to advance, and just as they reached our walls I ordered an arrow storm. Sedric lost most of his first wave of attackers, but he was probably planning on that. He had brought, in my estimate, 100,000-300,000 troops. And we had just killed 500 if that many. It would be a very long siege.

We turned them back for three weeks before I thought it may just be the day of our death.... The sun was low in the sky when it happened. We had no more oil to drop on them and our arrows were running low. We still had enough food for another month, but I didn't think we could last long.

I heard a loud "BOOM" as there battering ram came in contact with the gates to me keep. I found Eilonwy sitting alone, on the battlements. I kissed her. I told her my dismal opinions on the outcome and gave her my one blade, Savior. I took her hand in my mine and we walked to the most foward point, over looking the gates. Sedric was there. He smiled at us a cruel smile and blew a kiss to Eilonwy. She hissed at him. I smiled back even though I knew we were doomed. I could see we were still greatly outnumbered even though they had lost a great many soldiers. I ordered the last of our arrows fired and I heard the screams of many dying men. Then..... I heard the Gates crash open...

My first instinct was to see that Eilonwy was safe, however, by the time I turned around she was all ready dashing down towards the gates. I smiled to myself for her courage before rushing after her. I could hear the sounds of battle starting as I finally reached the gate, Eilonwy, and on on-slaught of attackers almost simutaneously. To my surprise, the first attacker to reach Eilonwy died with a gutteral scream on his lips. I could see my men fighting skirmishes all around with the enemy as I fought back to back with Eilonwy. Enemy soldiers fell in a progressive rhythm as her blade and mine danced in a joyful unison that cannot be expressed properly. The foes came and the foes fell as they neared are undefeatable skill, parry, thrust, swing, all came as easily as a babe to its mothers breast. It was this day I became known as "The Blade of Death." Hours went buy in this fashion and hundreds of corpses littered the courtyard. I could hear the screams of pain as men from both sides took heavy casualties. My men were nearly defeated, I still saw a few fighting and I knew our time was limited as my strength started to fail. At least 50 men had fallen at my blade that day, probably more. I'd imagine a similiar number had been taken by Eilonwy. With almost all my strength depleted I called on the last possible thing I could think of...

Draining the rest of my strength, I summoned forth a demon from the bowels of the 7th level of hell. Its massive jaws containing teeth 3 inches long was held well over the tallest mans head. It stood upon two hideously grotesque legs and had a viciously barbed tail that could take the life of a man wearing plate armor. His razor sharp claws must have measured 5 inches in length while his arms were big enough around to uproot trees. I heard the most fearsomely bloodcurdling scream blast forth from the creature as it advanced through the ranks of Sedric's horde. I collapsed from lack of strength, my final memory being the fear stricken squeels of pain as the demon decimated the horde...

I was awoken by one of my men who took me to see Mat who was fatally injured. Fortunately, I found the strength to heal him and others totalling less then 20. After, this I looked around for Eilonwy. I rushed to her embracing her with a deep kiss with the embodiment of my love for her. And with that, I asked her to marry me.... She flashed a brilliant smile, wrapped her arms around me and kissed me fully on the lips. I took that as a yes.*smile*

After that I went off to my chamber to sleep for I was feeling weak from the exhaustion of the days events. I awoke just after night fall, Eilonwy was sitting next to me. I was about to speak when I heard a yell from below I quickly got up and ran down stairs. My men had good reason to scream. My demon-spawned creature was back. Entirely covered in blood.... Which I assumed was human... I saw an extreme look of terror in many of the eyes of the few men remaining. I grabbed Deathbringer and made duel with the creature.

We came together with a clash of light and the sound could have made the dead rise. We fought for near 3 hours, when it happened. I swung as hard as I could cathing the beast across his belly, its foul smelling blood splattered across my blade and my hand destroying Death Bringer and severely injuring my hand (hand didn't get as much on it.) I heard Eilonwy yell to me and I turned quickly to catch Savior. I turned back with a sweeping arc which seperated the foul creatures head from its shoulder. I rushed away from its body which was in midlurch towards me. I left what was left of the blade there and made sure not to get burned anymore. The body decomposed almost instantly. This made me glad as I dropped to my knees in fatigue. Eilonwy rushed and embraced me in a hug. I blacked out....

I awakened 3 days later, my hand bandaged and both Matrim and Eilonwy were there. Both looked as though they hadn't seen a days sleep in those same 3 days. With the use of magic my hand become fully functional in a short time. In a months time I was back on my feet so to speak. I hear Sedric had survived the encounter with my beast. I was saddened to hear that, though I had heard he had taken extremely grave injury. Almost on his deathbed.

Then I undertook a project, unlike any had before taken. I set about to create a sword. But not just any sword, but a sword of death. A sword unparrelled by any other. And it was this task I set on. I prepared so many spells, I cannot even convey the number. Then, I took all my preparations and took them to the forge. And began to forge my blade of destruction. Upon the very molten steel of the blade I placed my first spell, to be unbreakable. And the blade took shape, and I formed the hilt. Upon it I charmed that any holder would be a master swordsmen, to parellel both myself and my son. Also, I placed the curse of blood upon it. Any but my bloodline to take up the blade would die, and die horribly.... As I finished the blade I enchanted it that wounds inflicted would burn with with the hottest of fires. Also, it would begin to eat of the life force of any it was left in contact with long enough. While putting that life force into the weilder of the blade. Then I sharpened the blade running my hand letting the blood run down the blade. Using my own blood as a foci I used my sorcery so the blade would never become dull. And the my wicked blade was finished.... I then placed the spell of return upon the foul blade. It would return to my hand when I called it to me. And the perhaps the wickedest of my deeds, I gave the blade a soul. It had its own conciousness, but only myself and those of my blood. And so the blade became my familiar. What I did not sense the blade would sense. What I did not notice the blade did notice. And when overwhelmed with Paradox my blade shared the load. And this is how I created it, I created the blade "Widow Maker." I then created a sheathe for the blade, one that could with stand the touch of the blade. And now that the evil blade was done, I set out to destroy Sedric.

I journeyed long until reaching the palace of Sedric. Much to the dismay of both Matrim and Eilonwy I had journeyed alone without them knowing. What I needed to do had to be done by myself. In full armor, I placed my helm upon my brow and loosed Widow Maker in its sheathe and moved on towards the palace. I raised my banner, a red skull with to swords crossed beneath it. I waited there one day before there was any response. And to my pleasant surprise they admitted me within the walls of the palace. I was taken to the bedroom of Sedric. I took of my helm to view the quintessence of my hate for the very last time. He was very ill and looked as if he could not stand if he had to. He looked upon me. I, who was both his Savior and his destroyer. I who had made him and it looked as though I had also ended him. He spoke Quietly. "So, we meet again Elfric. As you is obvious you are victorious, I shall not live out the winter. And it seems you are about ready to kill me anyway. I have on request before you end my life." He had to stop to catch his breath and began again. "I suppose you know that in my conquests I have had not time to find an heir to my throne, and since I cannot let you have it. It is against my pride.... It needs to go to someone and I know exactly who should have it..... Gwydion shall be.... On this day I name Gwydion son of Elfric High Emporer....." With that he fell into a deep sleep, but I had seen to many die to know that he wasn't sleeping.....

I traveled back to Demuron and into Winterbourne with the news for Gwydion, both my son and my emporer. A most unexpected turn of events. On my return I found a few other suprises for me. First Tarran was back. Nextly a very pleasant surprise. My dear sister, Areanna, was back. She looked well and we caught up on the last few years since being seperated. It was about one year later that Darkon made his appearence known once more. He challengd me formally in front of my own keep. I walked out to meet him. We charged at each other, our blades clashing in a thunderous screech of steel on steel. My blade glowed forth its evil red as we fought into the evening. I was a better fighter than him so the fight was not purely blade on blade. We both used magick to try and make the other make mistakes. We fought longer, into the wee hours of the new morn both extremely tired. My concentration wavered and he took the advantage however my blade recovered for me and I only lost my footing. It was now that my friends found us and Darkon fled. I traveled after him. My closest friends came with me. One castle we journeyed too was quite memerable for me. We went there quite by mistake actually. We were ambushed by many warriors who fought very well. We turned the tides and began winning before the through nets upon us laced in Dragon's Breath (A flower thats smell puts you to sleep) When I awoken, Myself, Tarran, and Matrim were in a cell together...

My first thought was what had become of Eilonwy. We were fed meagerly twice a day for about one week. Then we were brought to a large room to a room full of women. There was one woman who seemed to be a Queen of some sort in a chair to the back on a raised platform. And a level lower to her right and left sat two lovely women. It was at this time I noticed that the guards were also women. Making me somewhat suspicious. All three of us were brought before the Queen. She spoke in a tongue I did not recognise. However, one of the younger women sitting in the chair on the right spoke in our language. She translated that we were tresspassers and men which made it worse. I had not yet heard of anything like this and it came as a surprise. She continued that since we were able to best their soldiers until they used the Dragon's Breath that we were to be kept there..... For breeding purposes....

I glanced at both Tarran and Matrim signing to them in a language created by the Red Death that I thought we should pursue a course of leaving. They signaled their agreement. Then I asked what had become of the woman that was with us. The young woman who had not yet taken her eyes off of Tarran said she would be made one of them. Learning to make men slaves... Well, that really didn't appeal to me so I decided I wouldn't stick around long. But before I could do anything I blacked out.....

When I awakened I was back in my cell. This time Matrim and Tarran were in different cells then my own. I talked with both of them with our hand language. None of us could open are cells they were cleverly locked. Late that evening I heard talking. I awoke and quietly crept to where I could see. The young translating woman from before was talking to Tarran. To my surprise it sounded as though they were having a pleasant conversation which came as a bit of a shock to me... I figured there was little I could do about it, I was worried about Eilonwy and could do nothing so went to sleep....

I awoke at sunrise, giving a questioning look to Tarran who replied with a puzzle. Baffled and rather annoyed I went over to converse with Matrim. We spoke a short time before we were again taken away. This time, I was taken to what appeared to be a bed chamber. But none like I had ever seen. I was left there by myself. My sword was in the castle I could feel it call to me, I wondered how they had moved it... I waited there for a good hour. After that three women entered the room one holding a weapon that closely remsebled a spear, no, more like a trident. One was scantily clothed, and eyed me as if deciding to buy a horse. I took offense. My gaze finally rested on the 3rd. My heart nearly jumped into my throat. It was Eilonwy, she had tears in her eyes. I gave a Stolid appearence. The one with little clothing spoke, Eilonwy translated. I couldn't believe what I heard. Now I choose not to say exactly what was said but lets say that I don't think it is a command I was not willing to follow. I looked directly into Eilonwy's eyes and nodded solemnly. I raised a hand, and the other two woman stopped breathing. As they tried to grasp for breath I grabbed the trident and locked them in that room as I bid Eilonwy follow me. I asked her if she knew where my blade was, she shook her head quietly. I gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. I asked if she knew where our other companions were. She told me she did and led the way. First we found Matrim in much the same situation I had been. And they met the same fate. The three of us then went to find Tarran. He was alone with the woman who had first translated. Tarran saw me and whispered to the woman. She turned, and smiled. Now that took me off quard I must admit. She then walked over to me and whispered. I just stared and whispered to Tarran asking him if he trusted her. He did, and told me her name was Karnanya. I shrugged, if this woman was going to get me out, so be it. But first I went after my blade.

Karnanya gestured to me and I walked foward and she handed me a dress. I think I would have loved to see the indignant look upon my own face. Then again, I saw the looks upon Tarran's and Matrim's as they were handed the same. I heard Eilonwy giggle and sighed as I went to put on my new disguise. I never knew how difficult it was for women to get dressed until that moment, but I'm not going to dwell on this. It was time to get my sword.

It was guarded but I easily bested the guards. I grasped the hilt and the blades song of longing stopped and it cheered as its triumph was evident. We easily escaped through the gates not suspected by anyone. I shed the cursed dress as soon as I felt we were far enough away, Matrim and Tarran were fast to follow my example. Eilonwy mentioned how cute I looked in a dress. I looked at her indignantly and she laughed. The only other person to hear of this was Areanna and she got a good laugh out of it as well. Anyway, I never asked Karnanya why she helped us. In fact, it didn't matter. We became very good friends. And now, I only had to finish tracking down Darkon.

I traveled back to Winterbourne. My pary now consisted of Areanna, Eilonwy, Karnanya, Matrim, Tarran, and myself. And we were off to kill the Wizard, Errrrr Mage I mean. :o) Since my stables had been destroyed in the battle with Sedric, I went inland and bought the finest horses I could find, one for each and 3 pack animals. I purchased two large tents and and a third smaller one. I bought provisions enough for a few weeks travel, and various other odds and ends. We rode for many months through every country and most every city in my search for Darkon.

Alas, to no avail I saw no hide nor hair of him and became discouraged. We traveled back to my castle and home.

I sent word to my son the High Emporer of my return and tried to relax with Eilonwy. Though, I could not flush the image of Darkon from my mind like a plague that cannot be supressed. However, try as I may, I could not find him and soon gave up on it. I had my castle re-built and started to settle in to an easier life than I had previously experienced. And I was happy aside from the lingering memory of Darkon. A short time after this I was summoned to attend a ball at he High Emporer's palace, which since it had been a while since I had seen my son I accepted.

A small entourage followed me, as well as Eilonwy, Matrim, Tarran, Areanna, and Karnanya. On the second evening of our expedition, something odd happened. I awoke in the middle of the night with a shiver down my spine and a cold sweat. I rose from my bed and out of the tent quietly and the entire camp was quiet, no one stirred. I remember an odd feeling in the air and a sense of power. Something that was so awesome that it was beyond my comprehension. However, I felt quite peaceful which as I look back seems strange to me. Walking as if under the power of another being I went off some distance from the camp, feeling at complete ease I stopped in front of one of the largest trees I had ever seen. That is when things started to become very strange. Have you ever seen a talking tree? Well, until then neither had I... Though, it wasn't exactly like talking. More like Telepathy, a soft feminine voice filled my head. It was unlike anything I had previously experienced. Now I had been touched through my mind in a similiar way by other Mages but nothing of the magnitude this being had. I felt as though this being could crush me out of exsistence if it took a fancy to that thought, however, since I'm around to tell the story it obviously didn't. I will sum the conversation up for you. I was told of a great evil trying to enter our world, an evil that could not be opposed by ordinary means. The gods of our world had counciled and chosen me to Champion the world. Oh, it gets better. Not only did I have to defeat this being which had no name nor no form. But I had to find the weapon that was designed to banish the Nameless one, unfortunately, no one had ever seen it. All and all I thought it went quite well... I have no way of telling how long I was with the talking tree, but I awoke at my camp the next morning where nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

The occurances of the previous night seemed only a dream yet the vividness kept my mind to my task. I talked with Tarran of the strange occurance and kept it mostly to myself other than that. We eventually reached the palace of my son, but I was too preoccupied to enjoy myself. Eilonwy noticed my distraction and I soon told her of my odd meeting. A few days later we started home under the pretense of illness. Now I had thought the first was weird, I had no idea.... We were on a small hunting expedition hoping to catch dinner for the night. Eilonwy had been riding with me, as we were going through the forest our horse tripped pver something and went laim throwing me for quite a distance. It hurt quite a lot. When I awoke Eilonwy was kneeling next to me. But, I paid her very little mind. I was drawn towards something else, I got up and walked not of my own will... I stopped in front of a rock. When I say a rock I mean just a small insignicant run of the mill everyday rock. However, just as I stopped in front of the rock this low thunderous voice rattled itself into the deep recess of my mind. I instinctively put my hands upon my ears. My new little pet rock, tells me that what I'm looking for is at the bottom of the sea. I sat there thinking, oh gee how lucky I am to get quests that can't be completed so the world is going to end and its all my fault. Yeah, life just keeps getting better and better! Oh, one other thing, you'll never guess who the Nameless one chose to champion him... Darkon, the spiteful, spineless, sack of useless entrails I was going to have the pleasure of killing him after all but first I needed to find a way to journey to the bottom of the ocean, much easier said than done. I was not even sure where I was supposed to look, or what the silly thing looked like or how much time I had to do whatever I had to do. It was becoming a bit frustrated.

So, I went in search of what I should look for I traveled to many cities and visited many Libraries, I read many books and many prophecies. I found some hints but nothing substantial. After months of searching I finally came upon something... I was searching the Jungles of Borra my friends and I were running low on supplies when we accidentally stumbled upon a temple of some kind. We walked in because heavy rains were starting to fall and we were all pretty battered from just the normal travel through the jungle. Tarran, Matrim, and I went to change out of our armor and get into cooler clothes. The heat was nearly unbearable for us. We returned shortly and made camp for the evening. We had to large tents, 3 people to a tent. Areanna and I had the first watch, Tarran and Eilonwy the second, and Matrim and Karnanya the third. Areanna and I got ready for the first watch while the others tried to get some sleep. I was sharpening my boot knife and I heard something perculiar. I wasn't sure what but I knew it wasn't right, I quietly said something to Areanna and walked the direction of the noise. I had my blade drawn and it emitted an eerie red glow. I sliced my way through the jungle until I came upon it. It was a large book, and it seemed to be in perfect condition. I wondered how in the name of Nirvant, the Goddess of Life and nature, a book got there.

I first figured the person I was chasing dropped it. However, the brush had not been disturbed... It was puzzled so took the book back with me and relayed the story back to Areanna and waited for my watch to be over... I slept fitfully throughout the night, the book occupied my dreams. In the morning I began my studies of the book. It was in a strange language similiar the the anchient languages of Demuron I had studied all those years ago... I brought it with us as we continued are journey and began deciphering its meaning. I was shocked at what I found
