We, Mages, behold the vampires in the shadows whose control over mortal affairs drag our world downward. Do you think I talk of fairy tales when I speak of Kindred? They are quite real, as real as the Garou. Don't smirk the Garou are often are allies. However, back to the Kindred. Kindred are mostly creatures of the city, they make there haven there feeding upon there Kine which we call mortals. They have a prince for mostly every city who thinks he runs everything. There are many factions of Kindred. Camarilla contains 6 clans, Sabbat has some more, then there are the loner clans such as the Assamite. But shall I start earlier than this? Yes, I think I shall. The first Vampire was Caine. Yes, Caine who has slain his brother Able. He committed the next great sin by making his first Progeney, of which there were only 3. But, then his progeney created more progeney. Then he forbade the making of more Vampires. Then Caine left the First city and his Progeney. His progeney declared themselves ruler of the first city and each made a brood in order to claim the glory of Caine. Yet they did not have Caine's Wisdom or restraint. A great War raged, Elders against there childern. And the Childern slew there parents. Then they created Progeney of there own the fourth generation of Cainites. And any progeney created by them was slain and there sire with it. But, enough of the past. The Kindred strive to keep there identity safe from what Mages call sleepers but most would call Mortals. They call this struggle the Masquerade, they strive to keep persecussion away from them. The Kindred live by certain rules they call Traditions. These Laws are enforced by what Vampires call Justicars. Justicars hold ultimate power, they are the "police" of the Kindred. They are also the "Judges". They decide your guilt and also the punishment. The Justicars tend to have other Kindred help them out, they are called Archons. Archons are the Justicars eyes and ears. Archons are often the Justcars Progeney. But, have I forgotten something? Ah, yes! How does a Vampire pass on the curse? You ask this, and the knowledge shall be revealed. A Vampire can pass on the curse to any mortal. First the Vampire drains there blood to the point of death, next the Vampire allows there progeney to drink there own blood. Once a few drops of blood are one the Vampires lips, its progeney begins drinking greedily. A few drops are all it requires though. The embrace is often very painful, and wouldn't you expect the death of ones body to be? The childe (Another word for Progeney) is not really a part of the Kindred society at first. There sire is totally responisble for the young Kindred. The Childe has no rights and no respect among Kindred, very similiar to a mortal child. However, most cannot even make Progeney. The right is reserved for the Prince, the Prince can grant this right to others. If this law is broken both the Childe and Sire are hunted and destroyed.
