FACT FILE: Stratgic Craft Pilot MOSs
640 Fighter, Light Strategic (Piranha)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the F-3 Piranha, the smallest
and most agile of the SFMC's strategic fighters. The Piranha's limited
endurance and extreme agility make it distinctly different to fly than
other strategic fighters used by the SFMC. All Piranha pilots learn to
perform preflight inspections of their vehicle, basic maintenance and upkeep,
inflight system diagnostics, interstellar navigation and basic extravehicular
survival techniques.
641 Fighter, Medium Strategic (Tigershark)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the F-5 Tigershark, the most
versatile and well-known of the SFMC's strategic fighters. The Tigershark's
ability to handle a wide variety of missions, from short range space superiority
to long range convoy escort, make it distinctly different to fly than other
strategic fighters used by the SFMC. All Tigershark pilots learn to perform
preflight inspections of their vehicle, basic maintenance and upkeep, inflight
system diagnostics, interstellar navigation and basic extravehicular survival
techniques.
642 Fighter, Heavy Strategic (Mako)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the F-7 Mako, the largest and
most heavily armed of the SFMC's strategic fighters. The heavy weapons
carried by the Mako, and the techniques used to employ them make it distinctly
different to fly than other strategic fighters used by the SFMC. All Mako
pilots learn to perform preflight inspections of their vehicle, basic maintenance
and upkeep, inflight system diagnostics, interstellar navigation and basic
extravehicular survival techniques.
643 Attack, Light Strategic (Stingray)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the A-33 Stingray, the smallest
and most agile of the SFMCÕs strategic fighters. The Stingray's
limited ordnance carrying capability and unique weapons array make it distinctly
different to fly than other strategic attack craft used by the SFMC. All
Stingray pilots learn to perform preflight inspections of their vehicle,
basic maintenance and upkeep, inflight system diagnostics, interstellar
navigation and basic extravehicular survival techniques.
644 Attack, Medium Strategic (Barracuda)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the A-35 Barracuda, the most
versatile and commonly seen model of the SFMC's strategic fighters. The
Barracuda's ability to carry out a wide variety of missions makes it distinctly
different to fly than other strategic attack craft used by the SFMC. All
Barracuda pilots learn to perform preflight inspections of their vehicle,
basic maintenance and upkeep, inflight system diagnostics, interstellar
navigation and basic extravehicular survival techniques.
645 Attack, Heavy Strategic (Orca)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the A-37 Orca, the largest and
most heavily armed of the SFMC's tactical attack craft. The size, power
and ordnance carrying capability of the Orca make it distinctly different
to fly than other strategic attack craft used by the SFMC. All Orca pilots
learn to perform preflight inspections of their vehicle, basic maintenance
and upkeep, inflight system diagnostics, interstellar navigation and basic
extravehicular survival techniques.
646 Aerospace Defense Craft, Strategic (Guardian)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly the E-3 Guardian alongside their more heavily
armed companions, using their piloting skills and extensive countermeasures
equipment to stay alive in direct combat, while providing protection to
their unit as whole. All Guardian pilots learn to perform preflight inspections
of their vehicle, basic maintenance and upkeep, inflight system diagnostics,
interstellar navigation and basic extravehicular survival techniques. They
also receive extensive training in electronic countermeasures, including
sophisticated subspace techniques for deep space employment against starships.
