FACT FILE: Tactical Craft Pilot MOSs
630 Fighter, Light Tactical (Falcon)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the F-22 Falcon, the smallest
and most maneuverable of the SFMC's tactical fighter aircraft. The acceleration
and agility of this craft make it distinctly different to fly than other
vehicles in the SFMC inventory. All Falcon pilots learn to perform preflight
inspections of their vehicle, preventative maintenance and upkeep, inflight
system diagnostics as well as basic survival skills. Falcon pilots train
extensively in atmospheric combat, practicing against multiple opponents
and close range, high speed combat.
631 Fighter, Medium Tactical (Hawk)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the F-24 Hawk, the most versatile
of the SFMC's tactical fighter aircraft. The multi-mission capabilities
of this craft make it distinctly different to fly than other vehicles in
the SFMC inventory. All Hawk pilots learn to perform preflight inspections
of their vehicle, preventative maintenance and upkeep, inflight system
diagnostics as well as basic survival skills. Hawk pilots train extensively
in a wide variety of missions, from low altitude dogfights to low orbital
interdiction of drop shuttles.
632 Fighter, Heavy Tactical (Eagle)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the F-26 Eagle, the largest and
most heavily armed of the SFMC's tactical fighter aircraft. The size, power
and ordnance carrying capability of this craft make it distinctly different
to fly than other vehicles in the SFMC inventory. All Eagle pilots learn
to perform preflight inspections of their vehicle, preventative maintenance
and upkeep, inflight system diagnostics as well as basic survival skills.
Eagle pilots train extensively in high altitude atmospheric combat, practicing
long range missile attacks against a variety of targets.
633 Attack, Light Tactical (Harrier)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the A-20 Harrier, the smallest
and most maneuverable of the SFMC's tactical attack aircraft. The agility
and size of this craft make it distinctly different to fly than other vehicles
in the SFMC inventory. All Harrier pilots learn to perform preflight inspections
of their vehicle, preventative maintenance and upkeep, inflight system
diagnostics as well as basic survival skills. Harrier pilots train extensively
in low altitude precision marksmanship, training extensively with cannons
and energy weapons.
634 Attack, Medium Tactical (Hurricane or Dragon)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the A-44 Hurricane or A-78 Dragon,
the most versatile of the SFMC's tactical attack aircraft. The Hurricane's
ability to function as a capable gun platform and an excellent dive bomber,
and the Dragon's totally variable geometry wing make them distinctly different
to fly than other vehicles in the SFMC inventory. All 634s learn to perform
preflight inspections of their vehicle, preventative maintenance and upkeep,
inflight system diagnostics as well as basic survival skills.
635 Attack, Heavy Tactical (Havoc)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly and fight the A-60 Havoc, the largest and
most heavily armed of the SFMC's tactical attack aircraft. The heavy armor
and payload capability of this craft make it distinctly different to fly
than other vehicles in the SFMC inventory. All Havoc pilots learn to perform
preflight inspections of their vehicle, preventative maintenance and upkeep,
inflight system diagnostics as well as basic survival skills. Havoc pilots
train extensively in high altitude bombing and low orbit anti-ship assault.
636 Aerospace Defense Craft, Tactical (Crusader)
Pilots of this MOS learn to fly the E-2 Crusader alongside their more heavily
armed companions, using their piloting skills and extensive countermeasures
equipment to stay alive in direct combat, while providing protection to
their unit as whole. All Crusader pilots learn to perform preflight inspections
of their vehicle, preventative maintenance and upkeep, inflight system
diagnostics and basic survival skills. They also receive extensive training
in electronic countermeasures, including in-atmosphere effects and more
sophisticated subspace techniques for employment against orbiting starships.
