Lorel is very hard-working and enthusiastic about her job as Headwoman of Lakesedge Weyr. She particularly enjoys the more physical aspects and dealing with people. She's impatient with slackers and, although she doesn't consciously let them know it, her attitude makes it clear. She's totally transparent and without guile, although it's not something she particularly realises about herself.

The one part of her job which she really doesn't like is keeping track of the figures, which she normally delegates to her seconds.

Lorel has been with her lover, Woodcraft Journeyman Girrick, for many turns and has two children with him. Her son, Girridy, has just walked the tables to become a Woodcraft Journeyman like his father and her daughter, Ally, rides green Perinoth.
