Luke Bespin & Orn Free Taa Waves
I did quite a bit of travelling this weekend and it seems that these two waves were at quite a few of the stores. I hit most stores pretty late in the day and only saw the remains, but they were definitely there. I think every Wal-Mart between Madison and Appleton had either the Luke Bespin wave (#28-#31), the Orn Free Taa wave (#32-#35), or both. It seems that the Orn Free Taa wave was more prevalent than the Luke Bespin wave was. I saw the Luke Bespin wave at the TRU in Appleton while Ray H. reports that both Madison area TRUs had this wave as well. Grey M. reports that Wal-Mart east in Madison had both of these waves today and that the Luke Bespin figures were the "bloody stump" variation. They didn't have them out when I stopped by this morning, so I missed getting that one. If anyone has an extra Luke Bespin with "bloody stump" that they would be willing to sell or trade, please let me know.
#28 Mace Windu (Geonosian Rescue) is probably the worst figure of the bunch. His eyes are closed and his mouth is open making for an odd head sculpt. He has an elbow joint that works with a button to provide Lightsaber swinging action.
#29 Luke Skywalker (Bespin Duel) is a great figure having tons of extra articulation and cool accessories. He includes swivel joints on each arm, articulated wrists, his right wrist is removable, and he has articulated knees. The weathervane is a cool accessory, but I hear that its suction cup doesn't stick well to things other than glass.
#30 Darth Vader (Bespin Duel) is another good figure. I think that his wrists are articulated, but I can't tell for sure. The walkway is a cool accessory and it makes this figure very heavy when you pick it up.
#31 Jango Fett (Final Battle) is the third or fourth figure of this character and the movie isn't even out yet. This figure has a lot of cool features. I won't mention everything to keep the spoilers to a minimum. He does have articulated elbows, wrist and knees besides the flame-thrower.
#32 Qui-Gon Jinn (Jedi Master) is a figure you have to wonder why they made. He has articulated wrists and elbows, but doesn't add much over previous offerings. It would have been better to wait another year before releasing this one.
#33 Endor Rebel Soldier is another great figure. This is the version with the goatee. A clean-shaven version will be out later in the year. This figure includes a removable helmet, removable jacket, wrist joints, and elbow joints.
#34 Massiff is a statue with a figure. The Massiff itself is only articulated at the mouth. The Geonosian Handler is a scaled back version of the Geonosian Warrior. But together in package they make for a really nice set. I wish the Massiff had just a little more articulation though.
#35 Orn Free Taa is a heavy figure as well. He has articulated elbows and maybe wrists as well.
Stomping Wampa & Fast Through the Forest
Ian reports that Kay Bee Toys west in Madison had these sets on Friday while Don M. reports that the east side store had them on Saturday. Their price is $7.99; which is in line with K-Mart.
Multi-Logo Toys
Ian also reports that KaY Bee Toys west in Madison had some Multi-Logo Ammo Wagon with Falumpaset sets on Friday. Not a bad price at about $10, I wouldn't mind getting one of these myself.
