HONESTY

WITH:

HONESTY IS: fairness and straightforwardness of conduct
Doug is a Saturday morning cartoon that features the imaginative main character, Doug, dealing with the trials and tribulations of growing up. Honesty plays a large role in the show, but not always the positive side of it. Doug's friends and family are blunt and straight-forward when dealing with Doug, making him feel less than perfect at times.
EXAMPLES
* His older and dramatic sister Judy (See Pic above)usually criticizes Dougs' choice of outfit and lack of enthusiasm. To Judy, whos life revolves around the theatre, everybody is watching and judging you, therefore you must make your life as dramatic and presentable as a live performance. To Doug, who has no concern in acting or making his life a live show, this is a put down. He knows Judy is telling him that he is dull and not as flamboyant as he "should" be.

* A classmate who goes by the name of Roger Klotz is especially mean. Roger puts down Doug because he has the characteristics of a so-called "loser". Even though Roger only does this to heighten his status, this puts emotionally strain on Dougs' self-esteem.

Honesty is extremely important when dealing with others. They take your opinion and advice seriously and if you mess with peoples emotions they will not trust you anymore, and may have difficulties with others.
