The U.S.S. Avatar has just launched for her maiden voyage from the Star Fleet shipyards at Utopia Planitia on Mars ...
The U.S.S. Avatar is a global project for Star Trek fans, including RPGs, to make friends with people all over our homeworld (so far) and have fun together!
We just started to make it up, so it's your chance to join us ...
Or bookmark this site on your browser and return some time later ...
For further information email us at uss_avatar@geocities.com!
The U.S.S. Avatar is the general background for a vast number of RPGs only limited by the data given in the description of the ship, the crew register, and the fact that the games are based on the Star Trek(tm) universe as it is created by Gene W. Roddenberry. Everybody is invited to join us ... even kids (our Head of Security is a teenager, the Head of Science was born in 1987)!!!
There are some rules all players have to keep to:
If your browser failed to show or process the JOIN page correctly, contact
us via email and tell us your name, your email-address, and
optional the country you live and its timezone (GMT ±
n) - as well as some data about the character that you want to make
up for the RPG as e.g. name, species, current residence,
date of birth, place of birth, specialties, hobbies
- and please add a short biography of this person, so we can make use of it in the logs and novels we are doing! We will contact you ASAP after receiving your data!
If you decided to play the part of one of the fictional crew members (you will see this from those names in the crew register without a comm badge!!!), you just need to tell us the name and position of this character in your email!
The Communications Interface is the Message Board of the crew of the U.S.S. avatar.
Add-on logs are usually written by a group of two or more crew members, who work together like a team. Each member of a team does the parts of the log in which her or his RPG character acts or is affected by the action most of all. The HTML file containing the text will be updated and uploaded by the person co-ordinating this particular log. Log writers' usually use a kind of mailing list to distribute the text. The logs should be send as RTF (rich text format, ~.rtf) files attached to an email, so that they are convertible for all kind of text processing software.
Novels are usually written by one person alone, sometimes two, acting
as a team. In general the author (or one of the authors) updates and uploads
the HTML files generated from her or his text.
To download one of the Mission Logs or Novels just visit the particular
page and choose "Save as ..." in the FILE menue of your browser. You will
get a HTML file of the script on your CPU.
The Internal Database is supposed to be a central database for subjects of science concerning Star Trek, like astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, etc. Sure, this is a giant project, and the Head of Science is not sure, if she can manage ... But we'll bear with her! And we wish her luck!
Small teams will work out subjects and file up their knowledge to essays
easy to understand for average people like you and me. The results will
be uploaded by the Head of Science who co-ordinates this area ...
