This is one of my personal favorites ! It tells the story of a band of seven 'Knights Templar', who come to Nottingham during a pilgrimage. The 'Knights Templar' were supposed to be the most feared of the knights who fought in the crusades, and they used their religion as an excuse for mass-murdering. When they come to Nottingham, a thief by the name of Seaward stole their banner head, and without it they will be cast out of the Templars. The Knights track down Robin Hood and his men and attack them in a clearing in Sherwood. Robin and his men have no chance and are forced to flee into the forest, but not before Much is captured.

Robin does attempt to rescue Much, but fails and is captured by the Templars. He bargains for Much's life and is offered trial by battle against one of the Templars. They fight, and Robin manages to win and escape into Sherwood. The Knights give chase, but fail to capture him. The Knights then deliver an ultimatum that if the banner-head is not returned within one day, then they will kill Much. It does not take them long to realise that Seaward is the culprit, and that they must find him to save Much.

When the Sheriff comes on his annual tour of the shire to find a bunch of knights using a village as their camp, he is less than amused. However, once he has calmed Gisburne down and learned of their intentions to kill Robin Hood and his men, he is more than happy to let them stay and carry out his dirty work for him.

When Robin and his men begin the search for Seaward, they find out that he has been captured by the Sheriff for theft, along with the gold banner-head. The Sheriff intends to keep this untill the Templars have killed Robin and his men for the crime that Seaward commited. They discover that Seaward is being held at Leaford Grange, where Marian was raised, and descide to go and get Seaward out. They sneak in during the night as Tuck distracts the guards, as the rest of the men go and get Seaward. Once they have found Seaward they make him get the symbol from the Sheriff's chamber. The Sheriff, however, catches Seaward in the act, only to be caught himself by Robin and they retrieve the banner-head!

The next scene sees Much about to be hung by the Templars, but Robin turns up in the nick of time with what they want, and they do their swap. However, as Robin and Much leave for Sherwood, the Templars persue them on horseback. Luckily they were prepared for this, and once in Sherwood the Templars were defeated by being torn from their saddles by rope running across their path's. Robin takes the banner-head back from the templars and sends the two remaining knights away tied up and sharing a horse ( the image displayed on their banner-head ). The episode concludes with Robin giving the gold symbol to a village to have it melted down and sold to pay for the village's taxes. Once again Robin and his men triumph.
