The Creation of Dawn

Excerpted from The History of Dawn vol. IV

Long in the past, before recorded time, there was a world in total chaos, gods waged a war for control over this small world, their battle turned a world of light and beauty into one of darkness and destruction. Their battle raged on for centuries, till one day the Lord of Neutrality defeated the other gods and took control of this small planet. The Lord of Neutrality saw what their war had done to this world and mourned. He remade the world into one of peace, harmony and light.

He brought into the world the Guardians to protect the land from harm, to ensure that this would not ever happen again to this world. After creating the Guardians, the Lord of Neutrality began to create the other races of the world, the elves, dwarves, gnomes, humans, dragons, goblins, sprites, orcs, giants, dryads, nymphs and all other forms of life that existed on the world today. He created for them beautiful forests, crystal lakes, ice capped spires, rolling plains of grass, beautiful oceans, and a beautiful castle for a protection in case darkness returned to the land.

He, once he was done, over looked his new world and knew his world need a name to complete it. He thought and thought and thought, though he still could not find a name suitable for his new world. One of his people one day said that maybe since this was a new age for this world why not name it with something that has to do with it’s recreation. The Lord of Neutrality now knew what to name his world. His people and him smiled and rejoiced with their world complete and the name given, they celebrated. One Guardian looking upon their castle, smiled and whispered the one-word “Dawn.”
