The Division Emblem is on a field of green signifying
health and growth, and is the cloak of the division. The seven major circles
represent the original seven starbases from which all intelligence for
the Federation was once gleaned. The circles within the circles signify
a continuance of vigilance, and a carrying on of traditions. The unsheathed
bladed weapon (a dagger) is in the blade up position, signifying a unit
that is intended to do battle. The shield around the handle signifies that
the weapon is wielded while protecting the wielder. The red outline signifies
that the unit has spilled blood, and lost it, in the performance of duty.
Typically, this emblem is used for official documents and communiques.
