When confronted by evil, one must take up arms against a sea of troubles...and the Law Dogs are packing a lot of heat. As well as a few other resources tucked up their sleeves. Let's take a look...

Pearl-Handled Revolver Cost 1 / Stud / Nine / Common Nate Hunter: I'm proud to carry my predecessor's favored weapon. I have to admit that it sometimes feels as if his spirit guides my aim. Hunter's Notes: The weapon of choice for Nate Hunter, turning the inexperienced version into a Stud-5. It does deprive him of the ability to use another weapon, though, so sometimes Crack Shot or Two Hands, Two Guns may be of greater use to you. But when you put a PH Revolver on Nate, you know it's always there. Of course, so does your opponent... |
Bowie Knife Cost 2 / Queen / Common J.P. Coleman: Time was, I could nail a scorpion at 20 paces with one of those. Now I don't feel the need. I prefer to catch 'em than kill 'em. Hunter's Notes: Well, it ain't a Weapon, so this little beauty can give you an extra +1 to your Bullet Rating in addition to any Weapon bonus your Studs might get from a Winchester Rifle or a Shotgun. Of course, that also means that the Law Dogs/Hunter's Office don't get the discount, but at a cost of 2, who cares? |

Shotgun Cost 3 / +1 Bullet / Five / Common (also in Pine Box) Hector Casparo: The favored weapon of my teacher and confidant, Doc Holliday. It makes a tenderfoot into a shooter and a shooter into a killing machine. It's a bit less... subtle than I prefer, but some of my fellow Law Dogs swear by it. Hunter's Notes: Good for taking out the trash: put it on a high bullet-rating Dude and take out the peons. The problem is that the Law Dogs are vulnerable to it as well. You don't want to have Flatbush, Casparo, Redbrook, or Olson in your Posse and be featuring an opponent armed with one of these. Tossing Lucky Ted in the way of the blast, or Pistol Whipping the Shotgun user before they can draw down on you, is probably the best way to go there. |
Double-Barreled Shotgun Cost 5 / +2 Bullet / Jack / MoH Common Reverend Simon MacPherson: Indeed, the Lord shall smite those who sin in his holy gaze. And if he's busy, I'll be glad to pick up the slack. Hunter's Notes: Basically the new-and-improved Shotgun. It works exactly the same, but gives you a +2 instead of a +1 Bullet Rating. Nothing incredibly fancy here, but if you've got a decent high-BR Stud already, this will not only let you draw one extra card but give you a little better chance of cleaning out the low-Value trash. The cost is a little pricey, but shouldn't bother the Hunter's Office outfit. |

Winchester Rifle Cost 1 / +1 Bullet / Two / Common (also in Pine Box) Corky Hendricks: Sure I can shoot with a pistol. But when it comes to precision work, a rifle is really the way to go. And if you're going to be picky about your shootin' irons, then the Winchester is the gun for you to go with. Hunter's Notes: Not a phenomenal weapon, but easy to come by andit's something to give your Studs. For a Cost of 1 (0 for Hunter's Outfit), it's certainly worth the extra card you're Studs will be drawing for it. |
Sawed-off Shotgun Cost 0 / -1 Stud / Six / MoH Common Deputy Milo Powell: When Johnny ain't available (perish the thought!) sometimes a man needs a back-up. Nothin' personal, Johnny. But if the Weaponsmith's takin' care of you, I gotta have somethin'. Now, don't be jealous now. You know there's only one real gun for me. Ya understand, don't ya, Johnny? Johnny? Johnny?!? Hunter's Notes: Generally not that useful, since the Law Dogs don't have that high a Bullet Rating, and have enough Studs in general that one of them can afford a -1 Bullet Rating. Still, it's not a bad weapon, and Powell can always Unready it on the rounds when you're a Winner. |

Quick-draw Holster Cost 3 / King / Common Lucky Ted: I do declare, I have never seen a woman move so fast as when Miss Hendricks drew down upon that scoundrel. Only someone of my keen alarcity could have perceived the subtle nuances of her expert handling of her firearm. I feel privileged to have looked upon such a glorious sight. Hunter's Notes: There's really no downside to this one, except that it's not a Weapon. Of course, that means you can use it with a Weapon. It gives you an extra rank in a Shootout, and at worst negates an opponent who is using a Holster. Have your Dudes strap on a few and head out to russle up some Wanted Dudes. |
Warwick's Gavel Cost 4 / Ten / Unique / MoH Rare Judge Warwick: The Law is useless without someone to enforce it and pass judgement on malefactors. That is my job, and one I am privileged to hold. The last sound many a criminal has heard as a free man was the crack of my gavel. Hunter's Notes: Warwick gets the discount, sure. But in general, having this means no one else can, so they won't be slipping by you by becoming unWanted or busting out of Jail. It's also good defensively for when you don't have time to boot some Influential Dudes and clear your own Law Dogs of those charges because they had to call out a Wanted Dude on someone else's private property. Ditto for if someone manages to toss one of your Dudes into your own Jail. |

The Evidence Cost 1 / Five / RoS Common Black Jack: About time Hunter came to his damned senses. I don't mind being hunted by the law, but I draw the line at being hunted for stuff I didn't do. Of course, I'm not sure they could hold me for Coleman's death anyway. 'Habeas Corpus' and all is kinda hard to prove when the guy you're accused of killing is walking around, as rumor has it. Hunter's Notes: Slightly expensive, but at least it lets you make a Dude Wanted without having to boot, or wait for a Cheatin' hand, or hold out until they do a shootout on somebody else's private property, or whatever. Pay the GR and presto - whoever you want is...ummm, well, Wanted. |
Bank Draft Cost 1 / Two / RoS Common Werner Braun: In recognition of the activities of the Law Dogs, Sheriff Hunter, the First Bank would be more than glad to cover your expenses. Lord only knows, we bankers have a greater appreciation for the law than most. Now, perhaps you could post a few of those men that we're now footing the bill for around my bank? I swear, it seems like every other week someone shows up to rob it... Hunter's Notes: Tired of paying that Upkeep for the horde of (relatively) expensive Law Dog shooters? Here's the answer for you. It's cumulative, too, so even folks like Bilton and Templeton are a bit more affordable, and you can spend your money on...other stuff. |

Bolt-Action Rifle Cost 3 / Stud +1 / Four / RoS Common Nate Hunter: While it grieves me greatly to give up my treasured Pearl-Handled Revolver, my inheritance from my predecessor, the increasing violent criminals in Gomorra force me to upgrade to a better class of weapon. Hunter's Notes: If you don't mind the extra cost (and if you're playing Hunter's Office, you won't), then there's really no downside to using the BA Rifle over a Pearl-Handled Revolver. The only other difference is that the Revolver was a Nine while the Rifle is a Four. This could have some impact on your deck-building, so play around with it and see what happens. |
Ammo Belt Cost 1 / Eight / RoS Common Deputy Milo Powell: Yeah, Johnny, you talk tough. But you ain't worth squat if I don't keep you loaded, are ya? Huh? Huh?!? Hunter's Notes: You've got Studs - why lose them to Out of Ammo? It's that simple. |

![]() Mike Raabe |
Blue Jeans Cost 1 / Three / RoS Common Deputy John Templeton: Let's see if my foot can come between you and the supple feel of...damn, it can! Hunter's Notes: In the rush to add this card in to avoid stuff like Mind Twists and Babble Ons and Rumors, don't forget that this royally hoses over Clean Up The Town because they can refuse your callout without losing Influence. Unfortunately, unless you're going to recruit Sally Daniels or have Redbrook do some Back to Nature, you're going to need Dust Devil to dispose of it. Which ain't a bad card anyway, but it's one more thing you have to use it for, and Blue Jeans is a versatile enough "magic bullet" that you're probably going to see a lot of it. |
Coleman's Badge Cost 7 / Rare Redbrook: A dead man's relic can be a useful item indeed to those knowledgeable enough to tap into its spiritual potential. But the vibrations from this item are somewhat... odd. As if the late Sheriff Coleman did not entirely die... Hunter's Notes: Kinda pricey, but it helps to make you less vulnerable to a Shotgun and give you an extra point of Influence. Some of the Law Dog's best Dudes (Olson, Flatbush, Redbrook) can use it to boost their value and potentially dodge a Shotgun blast. For those times when you have to call someone out on their Private property, the Noon ability don't hurt either. |

Roll of Dimes Cost 2 / Seven / Bullet / Rev Uncommon Hector Casparo: Folks wonder why Black Jack never made a move on the Law Dogs until the big shootout, despite his reputation as a gunslinger par excellence. Unlike myself, Mr. Jackson's not a gamblin' man. Although I must admit, if Sheriff Hunter were using a shotgun and enhancing the weapon with a bit of coinage, those aren't odds that I would be willing to cover either. Hunter's Notes: Well, no, it doesn't turn your barrel into confetti: that seems to imply that the Shotgun is destroyed. But it isn't. Still, if you want to see Nate Hunter do some serious damage with his Double-Barreled Shotgun, you could do worse. If you've made him a Crack Shot, even better. Stud-12, anyone? If you've got Nate unbooted, use Shootin' From the Hip for extra fun. Very few folks can stand up to this kind of punishment, and Hunter's Office Law Dogs can dish it out (thanks to the cheap cost on the D-B Shotgun) like no one else's business. For even more fun, use the Spare Chamber and do it next Shootout. If you don't want to use Crack Shot, try someone like an experienced Deputy Templeton or Hunter, or the inexperienced Nash Bilton. You won't get quite as much kill-power, but it's still pretty scary. |
Jack's Right Shooter Cost 5 / Nine / Unique / Rare Nate Hunter: Mr. Jackson neglected to take his guns with him. Looks like I'll have to make use of them myself. Can't say I cotton to using a weapon with the word "Evil" carved on the butt. Then again, it'll make sure I remember Mr. Jackson's crimes. Hunter's Notes: Give this to Nate (inexp) and it's almost as scary as a Shotgun. The cost is mildly prohibitive...but not with the Hunter's Office 1/2 price discount. Combine with the Left Shooter and other weapon enhancements, and watch Nate clean up the town. Then make him a Crack Shot for the coup de grace. |

Jack's Left Shooter Cost 5 / Seven / Unique / Promo Jessie Freemont: I don't care what it says on the butt of that gun. Ever since Sheriff Hunter picked up Blackjack's shootin' irons after the showdown, he's been a changed man. I signed up with the Dogs for my own safety, but it's beginnin' to look like bein' under Hunter's command ain't necessarily that safe... Hunter's Notes: Well, it's not as good as the Right Shooter. However, even for the Hunter's Office outfit it ain't that bad, because it will let you call out any Dude. If you've cleaned up all the Wanted Dudes, and just feel like taking out a few more of your opponent's allies, this card will help you. It's not like you got to rely on their Wanted Status for everything. And you can use it with the Left Shooter. At least Hunter's Office gets the discount. |
Deer-Stalkin' Hat Cost 0 / Ten / Rev Rare Charlie Flatbush: The latest thing from England, sent to me by an author friend of mine. I must say, it's quite a stylish addition to my wardrobe. Hunter's Notes: You can't beat the cost! Gives you some extra movement (without booting), and lets you get to places that are inaccessible without card effects. Of course, there has to be a Wanted Dude there in the first place, but you shouldn't have a problem with that (Evidence, Confession, Warrant), should you? |

![]() Anthony Grabski |
Corky's Sidearm Cost 9 / King / Unique / Weapon / Boot Hill Fixed Xiong "Wendy" Cheng: It is my honor and privilege to use my friend's Corky's weapon to hunt down Sumner. And I'll need every resource I can get to do so... Hunter's Notes: I'm not one to take an artist's work (particular for CCG art), and attempt to gain insights into their personality...but geez, one gets the impression that Mr. Grabski wasn't quite focusing on the weapon of the card's title as much as...well, something else. Perhaps he should do the revised artwork for "Pair of Six-Shooters" next? That duly noted, Corky's Sidearm works out great for Hunter's Office because of the 50% discount. Stuff like Jenny Cooper can also give it's user some maneuverability to get into a shootout from practically anywhere. |
Lynchin' Noose Cost 4 / Eight / EFE Uncommon Deputy John Templeton: I'll be back for you in a bit, Vic. Thought I'd let you...hang out with your brother until I get back. Hah hah! Hunter's Notes: Great for the Original Dogs: who needs to call them out when you can just sit on the doorstep of your turtlin' opponent and knock down their Influences to 0? Even if you don't call out a Dude, sometimes all it takes is to move on top of a Booted dude (so they can't call you out) and sit on them. Why risk a shootout when they'll lose at the end of the turn due to reduced Influence? Well worth the price. |
