Being such prominent citizens and all, the Law Dogs tend to get targeted by, and take advantage of, Events a little more than most. Or maybe it just seems that way.

A Coach Comes To Town Any one of your opponents dudes can do a job to rob the stage in the
Town Square. Any of your dudes can put together a posse to protect it. If the stage goes unprotected
or your opponent wins the shootout, you must pay your opponent 4 Ghost Rock (or your total Ghost Rock
if you have less than 4). If you win the Shootout or the stage is not attacked, you gain 4 ghost
rock. (Value Queen) Dave Montreal: Once a week, regular as clockwork. Oddly enough, the various criminal elements of Gomorra try to hit it once a week. Regular as clockwork. Hunter's Notes: Not too bad a money maker, as long as you tend to stay close to home (and Town Square next door). Also, if you tend to be low on cash, and since this goes off before the Upkeep Phase, you might not have any cash to give your opponent if you fail to defend the Coach or you don't have enough Dudes to do so. If you're lucky, your opponent might feel obliged to bring in a couple of Wanted Dudes to help attack it. |
Coleman is Killed! All Wanted dudes in play become unwanted. J.P. Coleman is aced, if he is
in play. (Value Three) Nash Bilton: Darn shame about that. I can't say I liked the man, but I did respect him. Which is more than I can say about his potential replacements... Hunter's Notes: A card to look out for, particularly if your opponent is expecting you to be using the Law Dogs. I don't tend to use Coleman myself, but even the first part of this Event's function can put paid to several turns worth of Warrant play and stuff. It's just basically annoying. A fairly low Value, though, so Pull-type decks probably won't be using it. And don't forget that it will work (however temporarily) on the Harrowed Coleman as well. |

Drought For each dude that any player wishes to unboot during nightfall this turn,
that player must pay one ghost rock, or the dude remains booted. (Value Jack) Judge Warwick: Seems that after murder, robbery, and arson, water rights is one of crimes that comes before my bench most often. There just ain't potable water inland here, so folks tend to get fighting. If it wasn't for the Town Well, I'd expect there'd be a mite more violence. Hunter's Notes: Depends on the timing. The turn after you used Lynch Mob or Warrant, this could get expensive. However, if you had a Long Arm of the Law out last turn, you might be able to stymie them. It can also make the Blackjacks lose some of that ghost rock they're raking in from their Outfit ability. |
Founders Day Gain 2 ghost rock. (Value Four) Reverend Simon MacPherson: Our ancestors who built this town would be ashamed - ashamed I say! - to see how it has fallen into such a state of sin, vice, and disarray. We'll be passing the collection plate around now. Hunter's Notes: With all their Upkeeps, the Law Dogs can tend to run a little cash-shy. Founder's Day is an simple and easy solution around that problem. |

Long Arm of the Law Boot all Wanted dudes in play. (Value Seven) Deputy Milo Powell: You can run, but you can't hide from Johnny and me! Hunter's Notes: It's real simple to use and it can be crippling to your opponents and to the Blackjacks in general. Put in a couple if you can find the space. The only real problem is drawing it early in the game before you've had a chance to issue Warrants and all. |
Nate Hunter is Elected Sherrif Nate Hunter gains 1 Influence permanently. Nash Bilton loses 1
Influence permanently. All-in town deeds with ghost rock production greater than zero produce one
extra this turn. All strikes produce one fewer ghost rock this turn. Ace this card. (Value Ten) Alice Chamberlain: Hunter's Notes: This can definitely give your Hunter Dude a boost. Whether this is a tradeoff for Bilton's loss is anyone's guess. Since I tend to start with Hunter these days, I tend to prefer this card myself. Your mileage may vary. The back half of this Event is also kind of variable, depending on whether you are emphasizing in-town deeds in your deck. It won't help your Jail or Courthouse, but it can give your other in-towners a needed boost. Keep it in mind. |

Rachel Murders Warwick All Dudes have their printed Influence replaced by their printed Bullet
rating. This lasts until after Nightfall. Ace Judge Henry Warwick. Rachel Sumner becomes Wanted.
Ace this card. (Value King) Xiong "Wendy" Cheng: Perhaps I was wrong about how the Sherrif should forget the Blackjacks and worry about other stuff. If they can gun down a government official with impunity, than no one is truly safe. Hunter's Notes: This is, oddly, kinda tempting for the Law Dogs to use. It's a "free" Throw Your Weight Around, and it makes Sumner wanted. On the other hand, it Aces Warwick and his ability is always oh so useful. And it probably won't be that hard to get Rachel Wanted anyway. I'd leave it out, most likely, but watch out for somebody hitting you with it, particularly if they're not playing the Blackjacks themselves. What have they got to lose? |
Weapon Tax For each Weapon in play (ready or unready), its owner must pay 1 ghost rock or
discard it. (Value Six) J.P. Coleman: Exactly how in Sam Hill are we supposed to do our job if those idiots on the Town Council decide to tax everyone's weapons? They might have to deal with a case of what we used to call "blue flu" in San Francisco if they don't make an exception for duly-authorized law enforcement officers. Hunter's Notes: This can really, really hurt the Law Dogs, particularly if they're playing with Hunter's Office. If the LDs get caught with this when they're low on income, they're in serious trouble. Not much you can do about this exccept grin an bear it, or make sure that you have Den of Eastern Delights in your deck. |
