Spender had been feeling really odd all morning. He'd tossed the newspaper guy two bits for
the Saturday paper and both quarters had landed on their edges and stayed there. Weird.

Then there was that incident with Dana Scully in the elevator. He could have sworn she'd said,
"Fucking rat-bastard, I wonder what you look like under that suit?" He'd nearly leaped out of
the elevator when the doors opened. Scully had just looked at him oddly as the doors closed.

He walked briskly into the main office.  The big room was mostly empty. He needed some
case notes and went to get the file. He bent down and pulled out the bottom drawer.

*Nice Ass*

Spender straightened up fast. Who the hell said that? He looked around. Typically morose
Fox Mulder sat staring dourly at his computer monitor.  Perhaps he had imagined it, again.

Spender bent over once more to retrieve his file.

*Oh . . Yeah . . . *
