Distinguishing Features | Tethrians are feline in appearance and movement. The body is covered in fur, and the females of the species often have longer head hair than their fur (which is generally only 2-4 CM in length across the species as an average). Feet and hands are paw like (to include retractable claws), the anatomy includes a tail which is approximately 1-3 inches short of toughing the ground when standing straight, a feline like mouth and nose arrangement (no molars), and feline ears set atop the head instead of on the side as with most other humanoids. Fur and skin color varies, dependent upon the parents pigmentation. |

Planet of Origin | Tethris IV |
Quadrant | Beta |
Background | Discovered by the Federation in 2370 in the Beta quadrant near the edge of the galaxy itself. As the Tethrians had already established colonies in surrounding habitable systems via warp drive, the Prime Directive was no longer an issue and First Contact was made peacefully. In 2372 Tethris and it's colony systems were made members of the Federation. In 2373 the first Tethrian entered Star Fleet Academy, graduating in 2377. |
Editors Notes | Tethrian years are equal to half that of
Terran standard, and as such Tethrians age and mature twice as quickly.
This affords a Tethrian entry into Star Fleet Academy at the comparatively
"young" Age of 10 Terran Years old (marking 20 years Tethrian Calendar).
Tethrians often serve 4 Tethrian years in the Tethrian Security Order (TSO),
which is the military arm of Tethran society.
Tehtrians musculature and skeletal structures have a higher density per unit/mass, approximately 4X that of a comparable Terran muscle fiber, affording greater strength, and the support to use it effectively. Eyesight is attuned more towards lower light environments, as Tethra (the star) is dimmer than Sol. Vision is reduced to 20/30 (slightly less than average human) in illuminations of as low as 24-25, dropping to 20/50 at 5-25 illumination (5-25 being overcast with little to no moon). Hearing is above human par in the fields of distance and directional perceptions only (due to the ability to shift the outer ears around like your ordinary household domestic feline) |
