B e r t C r a n e.

Story: A bard, popular and loved. His misfortune started like that. In his childhood he was seriously injured - head, they say. Since then, every now and then, approximately twice or thrice a year, he was seized with shocking aggressiveness - he crushed EVERYTHING that he came across. Later on one incredulous morning he found his wife dead. She looked as if she had been beaten down by an oliphant 137 times. Realizing what he had done, he dashed around, and found a man who promised to teach him necromancy, so that he could try to resurrect his wife. The time left and the skills of Bert's imbued him with extortionate diligence, he devoted all his time to learning and progressed quickly. His nerves were on the brink of ruin. The time has vaporised his wife, though he made his best. He's gone mad. Some jester had told him that raising zombies had a small chance of resurrecting his wife (or was it his own invention - nobody knows) and furthermore he seeked a powerful necromancer. That's how he appears, why he travels hither&thither.

Behaviour: Appearing at a village, he quizes the aborigens about necromancers and later that night arrives at the cemetery. There he takes out his Device - a great set of drums. He starts his tune - and they, zombies, skeletones and so on, rise. Teetering with his tune they go down as soon as it stops. If anybody tries to take any hostile actions against them, they attack him as well as Bert - OUTRAGEOUSLY - hollers “Die!!!”. Saves against this cry go with –3 penalty. At his disposal is a spell song “Zombie Bless” that not only improves zombies’ attack rolls but imbues them with high morale and 30% of them turn berserks. He is likely to curse those who start to take over. His curses are complicated and nasty. Left alone zombies harm no one. One of his drums may be The Drum of Greater Undead Control.

Appearance: Straight, one may think even too straight up figure with hair half-gone white and set face. A sullen grin is his usual face. A grin of inevitable predestined defeat. Still he meets everything with his head up - like the heroes of old. Under his crane-black cape a short sword and a long one can be seen.
