What is Amateur Radio?
People who pursue the hobby of using a personal radio station to communicate,
purely for non-commercial purposes,
with other radio hobbyist. They call themselves
Amateur Radio operators, or HAMS. They communicate with other HAMS around
the block or on distant continents, or from an Orbiting Space Station!
Some talk via computers, some use voice and others communicate using one of the
oldest forms of communication, MORSE CODE.
