VISIT TO THE STABLES

Written by Kithra Sedai

The sun shinning down brought out the golden hues in the reddish mane which topped the head of the lithe figure headed towards the stables. The slight breeze which blew across the courtyard ruffled the wisps which framed an oval face, causing her to raise a hand and tuck them behind a delicately formed ear. They eyes which surveyed the surrounding area looked blue, but a closer inspection would reveal an almost uncanny blend of blue and green.

Kithra's love of horses drew her daily to the stables, often bearing a few carrots or sweet apples. These visits were one of the few times when she could completely relax and forget about her duties for a time. A soft nickering greeted her as she entered the well managed stables. Jeb, the stable master, bowed grinning at her entrance. They had long ago developed an easy rapport. "She is waiting for you as usual." he began..."I swear she knows to the second when you are about to arrive...the way she starts to fidget in her stall, you'd think she could see through walls." I don't recall ever seeing this horse before...I would have remembered such a fine animal...he's beautiful. Taking a cautious step forward, Kithra approached him, noting with approval his calm demeanor. Fishing into one of the deep pockets of her skirt, she brought out another apple. Extending her hand slowly towards the magnificent beast, she heard a deep voice speak behind her.

"Ah..I see you have found your way into Caba'doon's good graces my Lady." As the apple quickly dissapeared into the horse's mouth, Kithra turned to see who the owner of such a fine animal could be...........
