EDWARD
The hitman who looks like an angel. Standing at 5'8" with blonde hair and blue eyes he doesn't seem like much of a threat and that's what you are supposed to think. The truth about Edward is he is a cold blooded killer without any sense of guilt. He used to kill humans but they were too easy so he moved on to lycanthropes and vampires. He sometimes helps Anita out when she is in a tough spot but he has a disreguard for human life that bothers Anita. He doesn't care who he hurts as long as he gets the job done.

SERGEANT RUDOLF STORR a.k.a. DOLPH
Dolph is 6'8" and built like a wrestler. He played football in college and wears his black hair so closely cropped to his head that it leaves his ears bare. He is the head of the "Spook Squad", the special polise task force that deals with supernatural crime. He is also one of Anita's friends. He makes it perfectly clear to her that he doesn't like her dating Jean-Claude. Doph is a prescence that doesn't have to yell or do anything like that he just has to be there and things get done.

VERONICA SIMS a.k.a. RONNIE
Anita's best friend and a private investigator. Ronnie is there when Anita needs to spill her guts and be comforted. Even though Anita doesn't even spill all the guts to Ronnie she usually gives her an edited version of the latest traumatic event. Ronnie seems to sometimes pick up on this but she doesn't make a big deal about it. They go jogging and to the gym together plus lots of off-camera shopping that usually ends in Anita buying something from Victoria's Secret. Ronnie has made it clear that she wants Richard to win Anita's heart and that she thinks Jean-Claude is a lying bastard. When she hangs around Anita, Ronnie carries a gun but she is still squeamish when it comes to using it on people.

CATHERINE MAISON-GILETTE
A friend of Anita's that is not involved with the monsters, she's part of Anita's "normal" life. Catherine is a lawyer who comes in handy when Anita gets up on those pesky murder charges. Most of the time Anita keeps Catherine in the dark because she wants to keep her safe. She also doesn't want Catherine to have to lie for her.

IRVING GRISWOLD
A reporter for the St. Louis 'Post-Dispatch' as well as a closeted werewolf, Irving is another of Anita's friends who is also a helpful resource. He is 5'3" with frizzy brown hair that frames his bald spot and round, red cheeks that makes him look like a bald cherub. Irving helps Anita out with research on occasion and she in return will let him interview her. He is also in the same pack as Richard which at times can be a blessing and a curse.

JASON
Jean-Claude's oversexed werewolf that hits on anything in a skirt. As well as living at the Circus of the Damned with Jean-Claude he also donates blood willingly to him. Jason is good to have in a fight except if the vampires they are fighting can rot and reform. Then Jason turns into a whimpering kitten, thanks to an incident in Bloody Bones.

LARRY KIRKLAND
An animator that works with Anita at Animator Inc. who is also her friend. Larry is college-age and a vampire executioner in training. He's about 5'4" with blue eyes and curly, short red hair that looks almost orange, as Anita puts it he's an overgrown Howdy Doody doll. Larry helps Anita when he can and tries to learn the tricks of the vampire executing trade along the way. Anita is very protective of him and he resents this because he wants to prove he's a big boy and can take care of himself.

STEPHEN
A werewolf that is a stripper at Guilty Pleasures. Stephen is very low in the pack and is often used and abused by dominant pack memebers. Anita doesn't stand for that kind of stuff so she often comes to Stephen's rescue or recruits other people to look out for him.

WILLIE McCOY
the only vampire Anita knew before the "transformation". She didn't think much of him when he was human, but now he's working for the older vampires so she has to pay attention to him. Think wiseguy. Willie is not such a bad guy even if his fashion sense stinks. He is also one of the reasons in later books that Anita starts to see some of the vampires as people and not monsters.

ZERBROWSKI
A cop who works on the "Spook Squad" with Dolph and Anita. Basically Zerbrowski is comic relief at gruesome murder scenes and someone who Anita can exchange not-exactly-witty remarks with. All and all he's a sweet guy that Anita cares and worries about.

LOUIE
Dr. Louis Fane (aka Louie) is a professor at Washington University. He also is a wererat and Richard's best friend. Louie first made a small appearance in Guilty Pleasures when Anita when caving with the wererats to kill Nikolas. He had about two lines wherein he talked about caves. It wasn't till The Lunatic Cafe that we get to see him again as a prof and Richard's best bud. He makes a cameo in The Killing Dance at the were-creature meeting Richard has at his house. Then, in Burnt Offerings he is dating Anita's best friend, Ronnie.

MARCUS
The leader of Richard's pack until the end of The Killing Dance. He is killed in a battle of succession by Richard. Before his death Marcus was a hotshot surgeon who had to hide the fact he was a werewolf. Besides letting his lupa, Raina, run the pack, Marcus hired assassins to kill Anita. We're not sorry he's gone.

RAINA
Like Marcus, she was killed at the end of The Killing Dance. Raina was a mean werewolf who enjoyed making people perform sexual acts against their wills. She also threatened and tried to kill Anita many times. We're not sorry she's gone, either.

GABRIEL
A sadistic wereleopard who was often in on schemes with Raina. Such as the porno films they made the majority of the were community participate in. Anita kills him at the end of The Killing Dance when he attempts to rape her. Now, that he's gone Anita has taken on the responsibility of caring for and protecting his pard.

DAMIAN
A 1000 years old vampire, who used to be a Viking. It was on a raid that he was captured by the female vampire that would change him. For an amount of time that can not be determined he was held captive by that female vampire and tortured using his fear of her. She was able to actually feed on people's fear. He makes his first appearance in The Killing Dance. Jean-Claude supposedly begged the council to have Damian because he knows what it is like to be passed around. We find out in Blue Moon that Anita now controls Damian thru her necromatic powers because she raised him twice. The first time was in The Killing Dance while he was "resting" for the day and the second time was in Burnt Offerings when he was about to die, Anita used her powers to call him back. Damian is currently content to just hang around Anita.

NATHANIEL
A 19 years old wereleopard, who was prostituted out by Gabriel and abused by many. He is not able to function by himself, Anita has assumed the duty of taking care of him (ex-> paying for his apartment) since she killed Gabriel. Nathaniel first appeared in Burnt Offerings in a hospital because his "client" beat him so bad he almost died. Anita has gotton him to stop his prostitution ways and to stop his participation in porno fims, now he's only a stripper at Guilty Pleasures.

ASHER
An old, old friend of Jean-Claude's, who Anita estimates is around 500 years old. He and Jean-Claude were a menage `a trois with Asher's human servant Julianna for approximately 20 years. During that time he traveled around Europe with them and basically did what vampires did to have fun at that time. Then, when Jean-Claude went to go see his dying mother a bunch of men sent by the Church burnt Julianna to the stake. The men captured Asher and tried to cure him of his vampirism by pouring holy water all over him. How long he endured this torture is unknown, but eventually Jean-Claude rescued him. However, Asher never forgave Jean-Claude for not being able to save Julianna until now. He is currently living (or whatever you would like to call what vampires do) in St. Louis. He is Jean-Claude's right hand man. Asher has also developed a crush on Anita due to the fact that she's the only female who will voluntarily come near him, and on occasion hold him.

ZANE
After Anita puts two non-silver bullets in him at the beginning of Burnt Offerings Zane recognizes her as the wereleopards leader. He is the most grateful, next to Nathaniel, to have someone to take care to the leopards and be their leader again. He is loyal to Anita and goes as backup to Tennessee with her in Blue Moon.

CHERRY
Another wereleopard in Anita's pard. Cherry was introduced in Burnt Offerings as one of the weaker leopards, although they all are pretty weak, who leaves some of her people behind. However, she redeems herself when she uses her training as a nurse to keep Zane alive until the paramedics arrive. She accompanies Anita and Zane to Tennessee in Blue Moon as well.

Oliver (aka Earthmover)
His greatest power was to be able to move the earth with his power. We do not know what kinds of talents predominate in his line. He was one of the bad guys in Circus of the Damned. He manipulated Anita by using her belief that vampires should not be legal to get her to turn Jean-Claude over to him. She did end up betraying Jean-Claude but when she found out Oliver planned to slaughter innocents, so people would make vampires illegal again, she raced to Jean-Claude's side to help him. She ended up killing Oliver for Jean-Claude to save him, herself, and the city. He had a human servant named Karl Inger that died with him. They seemed to get along.

The Traveler
He has the ability to invade another vampire's body and use it to function through. The lesser vampire is trapped in the body with the Traveler but his/her personality is pushed aside and kept at bay by the Traveler. The person is aware what is being done to/with their body but they can do nothing to stop/prevent/help it. The Traveler can also feed off energy from other vampires to sustain himself and others. He came with the Council in Burnt Offerings to find out how Oliver died. Anita sort of grudgingly won his respect, and he was on their side more than any other of the council members or representatives. He also has a human servant named Balthasar. Unlike most human sevants and master, the Traveler and Balthasar seem to like each other. Or at the very least seem to enjoy a good sex life together.

Padma (aka Master of Beasts)
Has great power over all lycanthropes, he can make them change against their wills if they do not have help like Richard had Anita. Padma also came with the Council in Burnt Offerings. Anita managed to piss him off at the start and his hatred and fear of her and their (JC, Richard, & Anita's) triumvirate kept on growing. At the end of the book Anita forced him to choose between his life and his rapist son. He chose his life to be more important and handed over his son, Fernando, to Anita. Though, he was very angry about it and I doubt if he didn't have the Traveler with him to hold him back he'd have killed them all. Padma also is part of a triumvirate. His two other parnters are Thomas, the gracious British solider; and Gideon, a wereleopard that has spent too much time in animal form. Both of his servants seem to dislike him.

Belle Morte (Beautiful Death)
Jean-Claude, Asher, and Damian are all descended form her line. Everyone in her line's beauty is heightened to some extent, it is one of the things her blood gives them. Another power exclusive to her line and rare, according to Damina, is the ability to feed off sex and lust to make to strenthen power. Jean-Claude is the only vampire that we've seen on-camera so to speak with this ability, in other words he's an incubus. We have not seen Belle Morte yet, just heard of her, though I can not believe that LKH would pass up a book with her in it someday.

Morte d'Amour (Lover of Death)
In this line is the power that lets vampires rot and reform. This talent is shown in Bloody Bones and Burnt Offerings. Morte d'Amour has hidden away from everything in the council chambers and, according to Damian, is hardly ever seen anymore. Again someone we've only heard about.

Queen of Nightmares
She is the head of the council and basically tells all the other council members where to go and what to do. We have never seen her, only heard about her briefly in Burnt Offerings and Blue Moon.

The Dragon
All that is known is from what Damian told Anita in Blue Moon. Used to populate the world with vampires but has since retired to the council chambers.
