I think it captures well what Anita feels for Jean Claude, especially the intoxicating part about being around him.

After Blue Moon it gets pretty obvious that she's getting more and more like the "monsters" -- her new coldness goes with this song.

The reason for it, Anita is very hesitate of loving someone, careful of leaning on someone for support. Her experiences are that the person will leave her, starting with her mother's death.

She feel like she is like the black sheep in her family. She is only one in the family, with black hair and dark brown eyes. She does not fully accepts her father's second marriage. She tells this to Jean-Claude in the "Killing Dance", alone in his bedroom. One of the rare moments that he is serious and not flirting with her.
