Cordelia gets so angry after Buffy, who tries to talk to her, ends up pushing her out of a vampire's way and into a garbage pile. It is an accident, but Cordelia is still mad. The next day at school Onya gives her a necklace as a present for good luck and while she's wearing it she wishes that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale. Onya's face suddenly gets wrinklier and she whispers "Done". Presto! A white light flashes and when Cordelia is finally able to see again she is standing in the empty courtyard of the school. However, Cordy soon realizes that life without Buffy is very different. Everyone rushes home from school because "curfew" starts in an hour, Willow and Xander are dead, and Cordy doesn't have a car! She ends up walking home in a bad neighborhood and is attacked at night by Xander and Willow. They're vampires!!! Cordelia is rescued by Giles, Oz, Larry, and some extra girl.
Cordelia ends up in the library. She starts to tell Giles about the wish when Willow and Xander show up and kill her. The Master is still alive since Buffy didn't kill him in this alternate reality and his lives above ground at the Bronze. Willow and Xander are his favorites. Meanwhile, Angel is caged up like a dog and tortured for the Master's amusement.
A 'plant' run by the vampires is underway. Basically, the vamps put their victums in a machine and it sucks out all the blood for them and puts it into a glass for them. Buffy shows up to help Giles, she's supposedly been in Cleveland. Buffy is also different, she is meaner and doesn't have any compassion or for that matter a sense of humor anymore. She goes to the Bronze to take out the Master. There she finds is Angel in his cage. He tells her that things weren't supposed to be like this, he was supposed to help her. She totally blows him off but he persists and she finally has him lead her to the factory.
There one of the best choregraphed scenes I've ever seen happens. The machine starts operation and with it action explodes. Angel frees victums who are locked up, among them were Oz and Larry who find weapons to fight. Buffy takes a shot at the Master with her crossbow. The Master uses one of his peons to shield him. Simultaneously, Giles is at his house and has figured out that the necklace Cordelia was wearing is the source of an evil genie's power. Onya, the genie, shows up. She grants the wishes of scorned women that's why she preyed upon Cordy. She and Giles throw each other around the room. Back at the factory, Xander stakes Angel, Buffy stakes Xander, Oz impales Willow, and the Master spots Buffy across the room. They move toward each other, throwing people out of their way to get to each other. Giles gets Onya's necklace and smashes it just as the Master breaks Buffy's neck after a dramatic fight scene.
The white light appears again. Onya says, "Done" to Cordy again but nothing happens. Everything is bright and sunny and nice just like it's always been. Onya looks pissed that she doesn't have her powers anymore, but Cordy is oblivious as she makes up wishes right and left to vent.
