Dear Sir/Madame,
On September 9th I will be going to Nalerigu, Ghana in West Africa to teach math and physics for 2 years at a public high school of 900 students. The Northern Region province where I will be working has a shortage of both teachers and teaching supplies.
One of my roles as a volunteer will be to run science and math clubs for the school. Two activities that I would like to initiate are a computer club and a radio club as well as more general focused projects.
I am seeking support to help cover the costs of my placement with the VSO. I am also looking for donations of used equipment or sponsors to purchase new/used items. Would you consider
I will be taking some equipment with me and arranging for a container to ship the rest. All sponsors will be thanked (with a list of their donations) on my web site and at slide shows given upon my return. VSO is a registered canadian charity and therefore all contributions are tax-deductible.
I will be writing quarterly reports and if you wish, you can request to receive a copy. If your company has a newsletter you would be welcome to include my updates in them to see how your donation is being used.
Thank you for your time,
Kesten Broughton
