Strago, the elderly gentleman is Relm's grandpa. Both of them hail from Thamasa, a town located at the south-eastern tip of the map. Thamasa may look like any other ordinary town, but its townsfolk is definitely not ordinary..... they have been keeping a very BIG secret to themselves all these while, until our fellow adventurers stumbled upon their secret while trying to locate Terra.
Unlike other people, the citizens of Thamasa can use magic simply because they are the direct descendants of the Magi Warriors. The Warriors were humans infused with magical abilities harnessed from the essence of Espers. Nobody knew what happened to the warriors who survived the War of the Magi until now.

Strago is a Blue Mage by training. He can memorize the attacks of monsters he has fought before. Although the Lore ability is very useful, it consumes quite a lot of MPs. What the heck, if you have a Gold Hairpin or Economizer, equip Strago with it and fire away!
