Is this the face that launched a thousand abductions?
According to many psychologists, as preposterous as it seems, this single image, the Starchild
from "2001: A Space Odyssey" is the basis for every alien abduction on record. Of course this is
nonsense. But how do we account for the growing number of abduction stories? Whether you believe or not, the phenomena deserves to be studied. Is it a cultural obsession? A surrogate for religious experiences? Is theree a kernal of truth lurking behind the hysteria? It's time to examine the accounts with a critical eye, not simply to explain them away, but to study them with an unprejudiced eye.
