John Lennon is all things to all people. Artist. Hard rocker. Humanitarian. Beatle. Saviour. His art, his life, has touched all of us in some way. The essence of his life was truth. Regardless of what circumstance forced upon him, he always strove to be true to himself and others. Nowhere is this better reflected than in his music. He was ultimately truthful in his art; his pain, happiness, confusion, revelations, loneliness, anger, everything passed from his heart to his guitar to us. If we feel, if we are touched by what we hear, it is because he always gave all of himself to us.
This is my dedication to the man. It was not my intent to enshrine him, but I can't help it. I don't think he would have wanted this, he was constantly deriding himself and his myth. He never wanted to be worshipped or idealized. He understood that to do this would make him other than human, to remove him from the rest of us. And to do that, we would lose sight of one of the most fundamental messages of his work: within each of us lies the power to beautify life. It does not take a great man like John to make a difference, we all can. Think globally, act locally. Peace, friends.
Still under construction...
