Humans

As Player Characters, humans are unchanged from the standard rules.

Islanders of The Royal Isles of Ahvlyn

Islanders have lengthy lifespans of about eighty years. They range in height from five and a half feet to about six and a quarter feet being normal for men, slightly shorter for women. Their hair colors range from light to dark blonde, light brown and all shades of red and copper. Eye color is predominately blue and gray. Green eyes are rare and are seen as being blessed by the gods. Islanders have large eyes and high cheekbones often with heart-shaped faces.

The Clans of Eron

The Clans are comprised of a free-spirited, wild people. Average male height is just over six feet in height, with heights of near seven feet not being uncommon; females tend to be about a foot shorter than males. Though thier location and lifestyle does not insure a full lifespan, elder Clan members have often reached the ages of seventy or more. The Clans are formed by the remnants of the great civilizations that thirved on Eron before the invasion of The Flame; because of this, clan members cover the entire range of human coloring. They are the most varied of peoples.

Arukians of The Arukian Confederacy

Another mixed grouping of peoples, Arukians tend toward darker hair and eye colors, though blondes are not unheard of. Male height is usually between five and a half feet to six feet, slightly less for females. Life expectancy for the average Arukian varies greatly from province to province, usually between fifty and seventy. They have no common outstanding features; however, certain provinces do have generalities. Native Verbodans have large, hawklike noses, for instance; while the people of Brint often have eyes the color of amber.

The Almec of The Wide Plains

The natives of New Aruk have a dark, russet type complexion with straight dark hair often worn long in elaborate braids. Small straight noses and well defined chins stand out prominately on the oval shaped faces of the Plainsmen. Thier almond shaped eyes range from gray to all shades of brown with the very rare blue eyed child. Plainsmen stand between five and five and three quarters feet in height often with slim builds; there is little difference in the heights of men and women. Once past the infancy stage, where Plainsmen suffer a high mortality rate, the expected lifespan is between fifty and sixty years.

Shirans of The Empire of Had-Shir

The only population with a lifespan to rival that of The Royal Isles of Ahvlyn, Shirans expect to easily reach thier seventy-fifth or eightith Acceptance Day. Standing between five and six feet in height, the male Shiran has an olive colored complexion, dark brown eyes, and wavy black hair. Shiran women tend to be smaller and slighter than their men with lighter complexions, eyes of amber to brown, and wavy black hair that is rarely, if ever, cut. Tattoos are seen as rites of passage and are often acquired to commemorate special events.
