My next assignment was in Rio Gallegos. Rio Gallegos is situated at the southern end of Argentina, the last city before Tierra de Fuego. It's one of the cities furthest south in the world.
Pictured here are Hna. Manrique and myself, in front of a monument that stands at an intersection near our appartment. The white specks are snow.
Here I am at the Laguna Azul, which lies about an hour's drive outside of Rio Gallegos. It's not really a Lagoon, as it's name says, but rather a lake settled inside a dorminte volcano. Here again it's snowing, and the lake behind me is completely frozen over.
Here is one of my favorite people, Dora. She lives in a little farm just outside city limits with her cats, dogs, and ducks. We'd go a couple times a week to give her lessons in reading.
Here's myself, Martin (another of my favorite people) and Hna. Manrique. Martin and his mother, Hna. Turreuna, are some of the nicest people I have ever met. (I'm looking a bit wind-blown in this pic. Though it's not famous for it, Rio Gallegos also has a lot of wind.)
