Moonlight PlainsTo Play the Game: I will post a Nixphe Round each Saturday at The Orchard Messagepost. With each round, I will give out a certain number of Turns. Within the post there will be an application form for turns, and I will randomly select from among the applicants who receives a turn. The first choosen turn gets first priority, the second choosen gets second priority, etc. Those who recieve Turns will need to state what action they wish to take. There are several actions from which to choose: 1. Adopt a Nixphe. Depending on what's available, you may choose to adopt a baby from the Moonlight Plains, adopt a Set Baby or adopt from the Waiting Pool. When adopting from the Waiting Pool, you may state which one you would like to have, but if someone else with a Turn of higher priority chooses the same individual, you will have to take a second choice. 2. Trade a Nixphe. Maybe a Nixphe just isn't flamming, or maybe they get the travel bug, or maybe they just get a bit homesick and need to visit Alonnia for a bit. If that happens, you may choose to trade your Nixphe into the Waiting Pool. It'll go and wait there until it's readopted by someone else. Don't worry, this doesn't hurt the Nixphe's feelings at all: they like change. Trading in a Nixphe may open up a spot in your herd for a new Nixphe baby, if you had already reached the limit of four Nixphe. 3. Request a morph of a Nixphe. You may request a morph for any Nixphe, even if it doesn't belong to you. You never need permission to morph anyone's Nixphe. For more information on what a morph does, see the information on Nixphe Houses. If your request for a morph causes a Nixphe to flame, the resulting baby will be yours, regardless of who the mother belongs to. A Flame baby does not count in your total of four Nixphe. To be "valid" the Nixphe for whom you request a morph must be up on the parent's list, and have no starred notices by its name. If you're looking to play the game well, you should try to work up your Nixphe herd. The more Nixphe you have on your page, the better off you are. A Nixphe herd is up to four individuals that reside on the same page. A Full Herd is one that has four individuals. It's not a good idea to start a new herd (on a new page) unless your current herd is full. A sub-objective of the Nixphe Game is to figure out what conditions cause a Nixphe to flame. To make the process of the morphs easier for me, the Nixphe won't be placed on your servers. Instead, I will provide you with the code in order to direct link to the graphics of your Nixphes. You may, if you wish, save copies to your own servers to be used in scrapbooks (Nixphe go through several changes in the course of their lives), but you must also put up the directly linked graphic. So, sound fun? I hope so. New to the Nixphe Game? Wondering how to get started? Well, first head over to The Orchard Messagepost. Go to the Saturday board, that's where you'll find the latest Nixphe Round. So long as the post hasn't been closed, the round is still open. You may sign up even if it isn't Saturday. You'll probably want to start by adopting a Nixphe. Under "desired action" choose either adopt a new baby (which is part of a random draw, you might or might not get a baby) or adopt a Set baby (which guarentes you a baby, but it won't be unique to you.) If you get a baby, you'll receive an email with instructions for placing your baby on it's page. You'll notice that your baby is a nice grey color, meaning it's in the House of Nun. Your baby won't grow while it's in the House of Nun (which house is strictly for babies). So, next Saturday you'll probably want to sign the Nixphe Round, and request a morph for your baby. If you win a morph, your baby will change symbols and colors. And, the Round after your baby's morph, it will automatically become an adult. So, what's your starting point to play the Game? You need to head over to the Orchard Messagepost new Rounds and updates on the Game will be posted there.
