Blackwolf's Special Treats!

rom time to time hither within these Dark Chambers, your Dragonmaster will bring ye goodlies something that's so incredibly special, you just HAVE to tell your friends about it!

While the rest of the Planet is busy honoring the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln, with a wide variety of year-long activities within and beyond both Washington, D.C. and Springfield, Illinois, another significant bicentennial is being observed: that of Charles Darwin. Now, lesser Mages would not bother sharing this milestone with you Mortals. As usual, Blackwolf the Dragonmaster is not lesser Mages.

Herewith, then, your introduction to one Mr. Richard Milner, and his one-man musical satire, Charles Darwin --- Live and in Concert! Your humble Dragonmaster was alerted to the show, co-written in partnership with John Woram, by the New York Times; clearly, this was a show that demanded my attention. True, Darwin's On the Origin of Species was never the yukfest of its time (this was, after all, the mid-1850's!), and Darwin himself was so not used to speaking on stage that he had to hire someone else to read his theories out loud for him. Yet here is a show where Darwin gets to croon about the various episodes from his life and adventures!

I certainly hope, Mr. Milner, that I will myself be able to see a complete version of your show, even if, sadly, I will not be in time to watch the good Professor Darwin blow all 200 candles off of his birthday cake. (Drat!) But as I said, Charles Darwin --- Live and in Concert! has obviously attracted, and therefore gotten, my attention. I look forward to hearing more about it.
