Their charter is to fight criminals and terrorists or anyone else who threatens the Motherland, with their own weapons. They use the tactics of the criminals against them. They have unlimited power to do almost anything short of actual murder as long as it is sanctioned by George Cowley.
The men and women of CI5 are taken from every walk of life; from the cops to the intelligence agencies to criminals. All are given their chance at the straight and narrow. Although most of the agents are loyal to England all of them are loyal to George Cowley; he demands it, along with complete obedience.
Bodie and Doyle are a team: Chalk Cheese, The Bisto Kids, Nitro and Glycerin. Total opposites but with a sort of telepathy between them. They work as two halves of a whole. They can be separated but not split up. They care about each other and will kill anyone who tries to hurt their other half.
Bodie and Doyle can act like a couple of kids when they are together, always trying to out do each other. But when the scene calls for it, they are consummate professionals all the way.

| Affectations: | Acts gruff but has a soft spot for Bodie and Doyle, especially Bodie. Takes care of his men with the tenacity of a mother to her children but will send them into danger or death if the need warrants it. Is completely loyal to England. |
| Past Jobs: | Was a Major in the army. Former controller of MI6. Worked in various intelligence agencies both within England and on foreign soil |

| Body: | Very solid, all muscle. He can silent as a shadow if he wants to be. |
| Chest: | Smooth, almost hairless |
| Foods: | All kinds, but especially likes Swiss Rolls, and all kinds of sweets, steak, take out food (curry, fish and chips, chicken), and anything else that isn’t good for him. |
| Affectations: | Always
immaculately dressed; polo shirts and slacks with a jacket or a shirt, sometimes a even a
tie. Never scruffy except when the job gets a little hairy. Likes the ladies a lot, and is very successful with them. Tries to steal Ray’s current girl if he gets the chance. |

red and gold highlights, very curly, and kept long. (NOTE: Martin Shaw's hair is fairly straight. It was curled for the show, and you can tell by its bushiness when it needed to be permed again.) |

| Affectations: | Silver chain on his wrist, another around his neck. Dresses like an escapee from a dust bin, always in jeans and tee shirt, never wears a tie. In the latter seasons he was dressed up a bit more, even wearing sports jackets. Likes the ladies, but would like a single relationship; that doesn’t stop him from shopping around, though. Would steal Bodie’s current girl given half a chance. |
