FAUNS 'N' THE 'HOOD

Fauns frolicked cautiously
in our front yard Friday eve
		while he lay dreaming
of the Light.
The moon shape
	of their hooves
		have marked the lawn
in circular style.
They have limned
	the brown grass
		and dead leaves
with shimmering white frost.

He turns on a light
	and sets out mothballs.
		Ritual -
to drive the Horned Ones away.

Useless.
