One of the greatest Jedi Knights of the pre-Empire period. Student of Qui-Gon Jinn, teacher
of Anakin and Luke Skywalker.
Obi-Wan blamed himself for his student's turn to the Dark Side though his actual degree of
culpability is questionable. But he was responsible for the near fatal injuries necessitating
Darth Vader's cyborg armor and life support system.
Obi-Wan thinks of his beloved friend and student as dead, regarding Vader as a completely
seperate entity, a creature of the Dark Side to be destroyed at any cost.
Together with their mother Amidala, Obi-Wan hid the twins from their father and the
Emperor. Taking Luke to Tatooine where he gave the boy to his brother, Owen Lars, to be raised as
moisture farmer's son while he watched over him from afar in the guise of a crazy old desert
hermit. Obi-Wan's death at the hands of Darth Vader seemed proof that the former Anakin Skywalker
was indeed irredeemably evil. Though now at one with the Force he was able to retain his individual
identity and purpose continuing to guide and protect Luke.
Alternate Universe 1:
Obi-Wan is the father of a son, Ken-Gon Kenobi, by Jedinara Ryma Brisen. He raised Ken-Gon's daughter
Mei-Qan on Tatooine until she went off planet to do her padawan training at thirteen.
Alternate Universe 2
Obi-Wan marries Sabe, Queen Amidala's decoy, and they have a son Ken-Jin who is two years old
at the time of his mother's death. Obi-Wan decides to leave his son in Anakin and Amidala's care
rather than taking him to Tatooine with Luke and the Larses.
