A new companion
Writen by Robert McMillan
Before leaving, Myst decided he should probably be a little better prepared for his journey. After changing into new, more common clothes he packed a bag full of food and put all his spell components into his cloak. As he stepped out of the inn, he remembered the massive man being hauled away to the prison. Turning around he started to head for the prison.
He walked into the prison and turned to the guard.
"In which cell did you put the new prisoner?"
"That would be cell B7, sir" replied the guard nervously, "Down the hall and to the right sir".
"Thank you"
"When he reached the cell the man was sitting, facing the back wall, in the middle of the floor.
"What is your name?" asked Myst.
"Brakk, who wants to know," he replied not even turning around.
"I am Lord Myst...for now at least, and I was wondering if you would like to make a deal."
"And what would that deal be Lord Myst," sneered Brakk
"Do you know where the town of Murk is?" asked Myst.
"Yes"
"If I got you out of here would you be my guide there?"
"As long as I don't end up back in here, sure" replied Brakk, finally turning around."What did you mean you are Lord Myst, for now?
Myst explained to Brakk everything that he had found out today, and his plan to go home. Myst was disqusted by the thought of being apart of the dark side. He made a vow right there that after he found his family, he would take care of the Dark Lord.
Unlocking the cell door, Myst let Brakk out. They walked back down the hall towards the door.
"Wait, I need my sword," exclaimed Brakk.
Myst nodded and walked up to the guard." The Dark Lord wishes to see this man, so I am going to escort him to his tower. The Lord also wishes to see the mans sword, for he thinks it may have magical powers."
"Right sir," replied the guard passing Myst the sword. "Don't you think you need to have his hands tied sir, I heard he was quite dangerous."
"Do you not think I can handle him myself?" asked Myst.
"N...no of course not I was just thinking..."
"Well don't think," snapped Myst, "Your paid to guard not think, now get back to your duties"
"Yes sir"
Walking out of the Dark town, Myst pulled out the files. "Noone will ever see these again", he sighed, throwing them up into the air. They instantly burst into flames landing in a pile of dry grass, which also caught on fire. Soon the back off the inn was ingulfed in flames as well. Myst and Brakk just kept walking.
