Born in Melbourne but raised in Sydney, Stefanson had a quite happy childhood. She was an excellent student at every school she attended. When she still was a little girl she always babysitted her little brother who is 4 years younger.
When she was 12 she allready knew she wanted to be a nurse. She is a very idealistic person and is a pacifist.
Her first assignment was on starbase 124. Because of an argument with her superiors she asked for a transfer and was assigned to the U.S.S. Marillion. Starship duty suited her quite well causing her to instantly accept when she was offered a position aboard the U.S.S. DeRuyter.
After the first 5 year mission of the U.S.S. Deruyter is finished, she's planning to go to the Medical Academy to get her doctors degree. She's a very likable young woman who always seems to be in a good mood. She is very popular, especially among the male crew members.
